6N Scotland v England

Borthwick rings the changes (a bit) and this time I don't think he has got too much wrong, though still a bit conservative.
England: Furbank; Freeman, Slade, Lawrence, Daly; Ford, Care; Genge, George (capt), Cole, Itoje, Chessum, Roots, Underhill, Earl.
Replacements: Dan, Marler, Stuart, Martin, Cunningham-South, Spencer, F Smith, Feyi-Waboso.
So Furbank in for his play making ability which is pleasing and it will be interesting to see if he can replicate his club form and link well with club mate Freeman, who has looked England's most dangerous back. Lawrence in for Dingwall makes sense IMO, providing his fitness holds good of course. Dingwall has looked a bit lightweight for International duty, especially if you pair him with Slade who is not there for his power game either. Daly is obviously a seriously good fellator to continue being picked. Please God we see more than 5 minutes of Feyi-Waboso. But I doubt it.
In the pack just a bit of shuffling around with numbers 1 & 3 which is a bit like re-arranging the deck chairs on the Titanic, but it is what it is at the moment in the front row for England. Good to see George Martin on the bench as he offers a bit of grunt and a bit of dog that I feel we are missing, but please God do not bring him on at 6 and sub off one of the quicker guys to leave us ponderous in the back row. The Scots will lap that up all bloody day.
Scotland quite rightly remain favourites, especially at home but I do have just a slight feeling that we could nick this one.

@Machpants Absolutely. Manu has been a great servant for England when fit, but Lawrence is the future nd offers more now.

What the fuck bro ? I thought we were friends

Interesting selection in the back 3, really surprised they’ve dropped Steward, and somewhat baffled that we show flexibility / ambition at fullback but still pick Daley on the wing. Expecting bombs all day from Scotland 9 and 10
Delighted to see Lawrence there, hopeful that Martin is on the bench this week before starting instead of Chessum next week

Was wondering who the kiwi with a hint of an English accent is in bbc commentary. It’s Dylan Hartley.
-
@Billy-Tell Definitely counts as Kiwi Pom.

England are a bit of an enigma at the minute. They've got some really good players and do some things well, but they switch off at crucial moments in matches and they seem less than the sum of their parts. I'm not sure about Jamie George as Captain and Freddie Steward must be somewhere in that back three.
