Not too long until le XV du poireau touch down in NZ. No AB discussion is compete without a bolters thread. By definition, there will be some names thrown about that seem a bit WTF-ish. All part of the fun. Without further ado

Blues - Rieko Ioane (EOYT)

Chiefs - Taleni Seu

Canes - Reggie Goodes

Saders - Scott Barrett

Landers - Rob Thompson

Not sure if we will see too many bolters this year until the EOYT. Players may well be identified and called into camp for an assessment before being sent away with 'work ons'.

Those you mention are potentially likely to be part of that group as is Akira Ioane, D Mac, Lowe, Tu'angafasi, E Dixon.

Any 'bolter' this year will be someone they see as having great potential to step up quickly if required in areas we may be weak on in terms of depth.

I think Blade Thomson is a quality player, but it will be tough for him to crack into the ABs though with all the other talent in the loose.

Savea transcends some mere position. Other players might have a position, but Savea has evolved beyond such mundane trivialities. He simply plays 'The Savea'

Ok if w'e're talking Ngatai, Moala, and Crotty not being bolters as they.ve all been capped before then....Ngani Laumape has looked good in a developing midfield

As I like the mongrel, I'd also like to see Liam Squire given a shot

Possible calls :

Props : Tu'ungafasi (only for a training session IMO)

Hookers : recall of Parsons

Locks : Barrett (too early for Seu)

Loose forwards : Taufua, Savea, Squire, Ioane (EOYT) (too early for Fifita and Gibson)

Midfield : None (too early for Laumape, Thompson and Tamanivalu, maybe Buckman for the EOYT if he is fit to play in the ITM Cup)

Wingers : Lowe, Ioane (EOYT)

FB : McKenzie

Parsons? I don't expect him back in black, unless Coles, Taylor, H Elliott, A Dixon and Coltman are all injured.
