All Blacks 2024

There have been many times in the last 4 years where we literally didn't have a clue.
Things are about to happen, all good. -

Things are about to happen, all good. That has been the case forever with most I think. Thats why we not top coaches, we have no idea what's gong on. I can honestly say, I could see what the coaches were trying to acheive as much in the last 4 years as I ever did.

Actually with Mitchell and Deans the game plan and tactics were pretty clear I thought.
Looked good for awhile too. -

Looked good for awhile too.I generally got their tactics , but can say I get general tactics of most coaches . just not the detail. Mitchell and Deans stumped me with their selections , but as I say they knew why they wanted certain players, and I didn't. Funnuily enough I heard Umaga speak at a luncheon in Aus, he indicated there was some confusion under the Mitchell/Deans combo.

Looked good for awhile too.It was just the Blues 2003 tactics but then they muzzled the forwards for the RWC for some idiotic bald reason.

I wish Joe Schmidt was in the coaching team rather than Leon MacDonald or Jason Holland.
You and me both, with all the coaching talent NZ produces it's hard to see Leon and Jason as being the 2 best assistant coach's we could get...

Who knows, but the best heads don't always make the best assistants and vice versa.

If there was a thread entitled "My first world problems" this would surely be post of the year.

Well yeah they were both head coach's, was their anything in their careers that indicated that they'd make great assistant coach's?
Leon seemed to get the head coaching gig on the rationale that he was AC at the time and couldn't possibly be worse than Tana.
I understand it's all politics and careers but just from a simple rugby brains perspective we have Schmidt, Joseph, Brown, Rennie, Cotter all overseas (and seemingly choosing to do so i.e. not even apply) while we have Leon and Jason at home.
I seriously hope they prove me wrong, it just sits uneasy with me at the moment.

@Windows97 where's the problem? First world or any other...
Maybe just the way it read it, but it implied to me that your sojourn to Italy maybe marred by the AB's not being able to put 50 points over the Italians due to the tiredness invoked by their heavy schedule.

Leon McDonald did a good job for the Crusaders as an assistant he was rated highly by the players and other coaches.
Maybe he was pushed to quickly in to a HC role. The Crusaders are setting Tamiti Ellison up as their next coach but as Tamati said himself he is not ready for the role yet, 2 more years as assistant before taking over as HC.
All about timing and learning your craft imo.

You misread it completely. I was expressing sympathy for their schedule.
If my provisional trip goes ahead - sailing in Adriatic, bit of a tour of the Balkans and hunkering down in northern Italy ahead of an AB test then nothing short of a sudden shortage of Barolo is going to be a problem.
