@george33 AJ in front of Proctor, that's hysterical. Remember Holland is selecting the centres so you may aswell lock in Proctor now.
Why? I'd Holland that close minded?
Holland's selecting the centres right? He's coached Proctor so he knows how much of an asset he is to any team. He was quoted saying he would have picked Proctor last year for the ABs if he was in that coaching setup. Proctor has gone up a notch in performance this year so when I put two and two together, it's hard to see Proctor missing out. This is about the third time Proctor has been on the cusp of AB selection, he's been knocking on the door for a long time and I think he deserves his chance.
I wouldn't be picking Proctor to cover 12 either, we don't need him to. Conrad Smith didn't and look how successful he was in the black jersey. We have enough versatility in the backs.
You're pretty much saying that Holland will pick Proctor because he's coached him before, rather than looking wider at all the available talent.
I really hope he has a broader mind than that.
Imagine if Razor picked Cullen Grace because he knew him from the Crusaders.
Grace won’t be picked.
Bell
Grace
……Keep them coming

Look, I thought Bell was horrific in SR this year, but is Riccitelli really a long term option? Like yeah, he's been good this year, but I'm happy at the same time for them to invest in a younger option for the future, be that Bell or someone else.

@African-Monkey It's not the Crusaders development academy.
-
@Tim @DaGrubster Yeah both valid points, but at the same time, I'm not too upset if they try and bring someone through (not necessarily George Bell), maybe you're right, save it for later in the season like an EOYT before going down that road and maybe use someone like Riccitelli in the short term but yeah, I see both sodes of the argument.
-
He is 29 and in career best form and is probably going to be a super rugby winner.
Sounds a better pick than a player in horrific form.
Why not rewards form from a player who has stayed in NZ? At his age most have buggered off. So as well as being the right pick on form it also sends a message to players that you don’t need to go overseas if you haven’t cracked the AbS by 28.

I can see the attraction of Havili, and Proctor is the guy I'd leave out.
Put the wine bottle down.
Wine bottle ? I’m thinking crack pipe

Proctor over Havili any day. But I can see DH getting the nod.

So can I provided he’s healthy(haven’t seen anything about that injury he sustained against the blues).
Havili is good, but down here in Crusader land he is very highly regarded by everyone so I’m used to everyone pounding the table for him. Never really understood it myself. Just a solid player who does his core roles well, not much more not much less. Feel like the All Blacks don’t need a guy like that given the squad is full of top end players who know their roles inside and out anyway.
Havili has peaked in my opinion but as we all know, Razor loves him so I wouldn’t be surprised if we hear his name…

Monday can’t come soon enough 😂

Not saying I would pick him, but can see the reasoning why a selector would.

I expect lots of "He may have been shit in the past, but Razor has a track record of getting the best out of players..." comments. 😂

Does that matter? We're picking a squad to take on England in two weeks.

If two of the three hookers are Taylor and Aumua then you'd want them both playing in both matches so it'll only matter if injury hits one of them. I don't think a third hooker (that isn't Taukei'aho) is going to get any minutes so it is more about thinking about the future. I agree with everyone saying George Bell has had an average season but if the selectors have seen enough from him in the past to believe he's a long-term option then I'm not completely against them selecting him. I'm not convinced he is the best long-term hooker but I can at least understand the thinking.
