CWC Semi-final 1: India v New Zealand
-
If the reports of India requesting a slow pitch with all the grass shaved off is correct that will make our bowlers work very hard,The Indian batsmen are going to be able get forward or play from the back crease trusting the bounce and be able to wait for the ball.
Miss line or length and it's over or into the boundary. From a bowling point of view bowling 2nd would be best for NZ hoping to get some movement with the dew if it falls. And a slightly quicker pitch which will help with variations in length and pace.

@Chris lol it's hard to fully respect a sport that blatantly tries to give one team an upper hand. The Indians will be almost impossible to beat on a pitch that they've requested so to speak. I can see us batting really well but then getting completely annihilated when we bowl. Hopefully we bat first.

Yeah there’s so much good and bad about Indian cricket.
I do love the incredible passion that the true fans show and massive respect for opposition players.
Then again I can’t stand the blatant one eyed ness of the other kinds of fans ( the Tendulkar is better than Bradman brigade )
The pitch favouritism gives me the shits too, that and our bowling attack gives me major cause for concern.

Yep I have the same feeling,if we win the toss I hope we don't make the same mistake we did against SA and bowl first.

Looking at the stats from previous games in Mumbai, you need to win the toss and bat first. Williamson needs to call correctly.
and then choose correctly, as well ...
not a given.
they seem to like to chase.

Yeah, what they should do and what they want to do doesn’t always seem to match up…

Williamson and Stead might want to read this.
The lucky winner of the toss at the Wankhede Stadium seems set to bat first – South Africa made 399-7 and 382-5 doing so against England and Bangladesh respectively, while India tallied 357-8 verus Sri Lanka. Batting second, England were rolled for 170 versus the Proteas while Sri Lanka collapsed to 55 all out against the hosts. When Afghanistan made 291-5 versus Australia, our trans- Ta$man neighbours were 91-7 before Glenn Maxwell happened.

Why do I suspect even if we win the toss and they did read this, they would only read "our trans- Ta$man neighbours were 91-7 before Glenn Maxwell happened." So there is a chance..

Indian cricket this sounds familiar it is worth reading the whole article
First there were suggestions India asked for a slow pitch to be prepared. Now, it’s been reported Indian officials have switched the pitch for their crunch World Cup semifinal against New Zealand in Mumbai without the ICC’s permission.
The accusations come ahead of the crunch match, which starts on Wednesday night (NZT) with the winner advancing to Sunday’s final against either Australia or South Africa.

The UK publication also reported there were concerns the surface set to be used for the final, to be played in Ahmedabad, could be changed unilaterally.
Pretty happy if NZ gets to choose our preferred pitch when we play South Africa in the final.

I like what you did there
