Boks gone with a 7-1 split again. I hope it blows up in their face.
What are they going to do at Half Back if the Dartmoor Pony gets hurt in the second minute?
Likely back-up for Faf will be Kolbe - not Willie.
In which case either Willie covers the wing, or they do a big shuffle with Willie to 15, Willemse to 12, de Allende to 13 and Kriel on to the wing. Probably the former, simpler version though but then again, this is the Rasnaber combo - they don't do conventional..... -
Boks are betting on rain.....

Yeah - slow the game down. Don't play wide. Kick and smother.
I wonder if that team changes with the weather on the day?
-
Hopefully a couple of back injuries and we see how super sub the Ox goes against Jordan on the wing.

Heavy rain in Paris today and looking very likely on Saturday night too.
Fine, there are plenty of examples from history of the ABs playing our style with distinction in the wet.
-
I heard yesterday, the forecast for Saturday was rain through the day but not so much at night
-
Just had a google, nah doesn’t look great on the hour by hour forecast , 90 percent rain between 7 - 10 pm in Paris
-
@kiwiinmelb Rain during the match is very likely.

I'm leaning towards Ofa, Colesy and Nepo to bring Bill home.
We should select to our strengths not react to theirs.

That is true in general, but the undue influence of scrum penalties late on can easily be worth 10 points, so simply cannot be disregarded.

@pakman which back packed down for NZ in the scrums after Barrett’s red at Twickenham?
Who was in the second row - Lord and ?
Up to 51 it was Whitelock and Vaa'i, but probably a back making up numbers, so fair point.
Boks bench scrum front row averages about 5' 10", so need props comfortable with packing very low.

Boks bench means at 60 tight five will be same as that which chowed through Tamaiti, Sami and Fletch in scrums in Twickenham friendly.
Can't blame them for trying to replicate that.
Meh. Everyone was plowed through, but that's all they have to go on I guess. Can't fucking wait.
