I fucking hope Foster and Ryan come out and throw sour grapes.

    I seriously hope they won't.

I fucking hope they do. We've been coping shit from fluffybunnies like Ireland, moaning and whinging, but fuck it. They got some real shit calls. If that were SA losing, the stadium would have been burned to the ground but now.

Nah won't change the result. The time to whinge, in today's culture, is to whine before the game to effect the ref

Commiserations guys. The ABs showed what class they are.

Enjoy it bro. Four more years of being labeled World Champs.

I genuinely interested in what the Boks will do when it comes to how they select their side. Will today’s win give justification for it? Other than in set piece play, the Boks midfield are hardly ever in the game. So continue to play like this and the forward selections will be the focus.

It was noticeable in that last 10 that the ABs expended a lot of energy covering for Cane’s RC.

Dont need flash to win a RWC, just need one more point. As @MajorRage said, the best performance by a team at any RWC, going through the toughest road.

Basically up until the red card, I thought Springboks win it easy, they were by far the better team, because they tackled the ABs backwards, won the kicking duel. Ever since the RC, I thought ABs had the upper hand. Very exciting game, though the quality was a bit shit, I guess

Defence wins RWCs. The Boks take a 5 point advantage into every match simply due to the way they defend. No other team does the blitz D quite like them.

As sorry as I feel for Cane as I like him immensely as a person, how can you lose your discipline in a final like that. A yellow is bad enough and can cost you the final, a red is unacceptable.

Knock out rugby is about basics as much as anything else. Sad truth is that South Africa and England play rugby that suits it, England obviously not as well.

New Zealand, and particularly France and Ireland all played better rugby through this cycle, more attractive rugby, won more games etc etc but that doesn’t win this tournament. Mistakes trying to play cost NZ this game (and not taking or missing kicks)

    Rugby is a funny game.

We won the set piece. Had more ball, more carries, they made like 2 and a half the tackles we did. Made linebreaks. And we just couldn't win.

We can whinge about the reffing all we want, but, given stats, we should have won. Missing those kicks which would have put us in front was crushing.

The art is in congratulating Boks for their Championship and managing to accumulate more points despite all their apparent limitations.
Then move on to expressing immense pride in ABs for coming back from almost impossible odds.

Credit to SA for the win, but I think we can say we lost that with a lack of composure at crucial times...several losses of our own lineout in thier 22, poor handling, pushing passes and not putting the ball out in that final 10 at every chance with thier struggling lineout.

We could have won it, but didn't.

Could have but didn’t. If we’d got ahead they were finished.

I have no problem with the outcome of either captain's card. Clear difference based on the framework and mitigation.

Papalii will be the captain next year.

    Taukei'aho will be hooker.

NZ will start their best players, finally.

I’d like to hear your thoughts on where you think Ethan Blackadder will fit into all of this

Totally, not the ref, not SA, we lost ourselves. Mentally weren't sharp enough, I wonder who Gilbert's replacement is, that could be key going forward
