Boult got Litton Das first ball and then the Bangles had another three loose shots that could have brought reward on another day.

But, they're through to 38/1 after 7 overs.

Jeepers @Bones I’ve never seen you so active on a cricket thread.

That Richardson one is brilliant, you’d think he’d been shot.

so, 3 from 3. With 7 games, 4 wins gets you in the game with NRR and 5 pretty well guarantees a knockout spot doesn't it?
Interesting eh - 3 wins first up and the pressure comes off. We could drop games to India (expected) and SA (toss up) -- but Aus get them first up and are in a hole.
Also, will this be the last ODI world cup? Any interest in it internationally? Here it's horrific time zones and it's pretty well dead

There is actually 9 games each, so ideally you want to win at least 6 and 7 would guarantee a semi final spot.

There will definitely be at least two more ODI world cup's:

Yeah I think 5 and good nrr will probably be enough, but you really want at least 6 to be safe.

We have Afghanistan next, so we should get to 4 wins before we run into India.

Still not sure on Kane’s captaincy or fitness, think we could have bowled a few more overs from our slower bowlers, thought 245 was a good total on that pitch. Especially with NRR likely to be play a role later.

Still some good cameos and enjoying Mitchell almost now reliable innings that guides us home. If Phillips can find some form our NRR will be sweet. We clearly played last night with a cautious win first approach
