SF - Wellington vs Shield Snorters

That wont mean the coach will pick him (just like last year)

Really happy with the HB performance. Clearly the better team, despite the final score, which massively flatters Wellington and doesn't reflect our dominance. I wouldn't have predicted a semi-final spot at the beginning of the season with all our coaches, except our scrum coach, in their first year. So regardless of next week's result, I'm already very happy!
If Flanders and Thompson play like this during SR, they'll have a good shot at a black jersey. Obviously, Fakatava will be in the picture, too. I hope McClutchie gets picked up by a SR team; the best 10 in this year's NPC and top points scorer. I'd like to see him in the Māori ABs, next year, but he needs to get the opportunity to play SR.

We were terrible today, Hawkes Bay were much better. We just didn't play to the conditions at all.
Kind of annoying to only lose by a point in the end. It shows we could have had a chance if we had just stayed in the game.
Just poor selections. Made a huge difference when we replaced our useless Hb with another who could get the ball out quickly. And got rid of our useless 1st 5

Not watched much NPC, but who is the big brute at 5 for Welly? Man's a monster
Filo Paulo, he old man, pretty sure even I've played against him! Didn't get far in Welly, went north and made good, now back home.

Thanks @Bones
Just liked the look of his size, and was hoping he was a young fulla on his way up. Him huge.

Quick thoughts before ABs:
- Flanders very very good.
- Parapara was horrific, but was I surprised? No. For all the talk of Ellison being the next coaching wunderkind this continued selection is a blight in my eyes.
- Possibly the worst game I've seen Love play. Talent is there but his decision making ain't. Yet. Is way too rushed at times.
- With my Lions eyes on I thought PUJ, Proctor & Higgins were very good. Kirifi was the standout though.

Sadly, Ellison will never make a good head coach. He needs to focus on becoming a great assistant coach
His idiotic selections likely cost Wellington the RS and the top dog spot. And time will not make him any better on this front. Some coaches (like doctors, engineers etc) can see what's required. Others can't. Time doesn't turn a dud magically into gold.
Selecting a HB like KHP was idiotic esp when he had a much better option available. Likewise, Morgan. Savea is so past it now but maybe obvious other options weren't available. But this was sad to watch. A once great player who didn't know when to hang up his boots.
And Ellison was a back. Luckily, he seems to have found a good forward coach. But even here does Ellison know the first thing about what required in the forwards
I hope he f++ks off back to Canterbury and assisting with the ABs. Then Wellington can look for a decent head coach
One final point. Love was great last year. Good coaches make players better. Poor coaches do the opposite.
