Referee: Wayne Barnes (RFU)
Assistant Referee 1: Matthew Carley (RFU)
Assistant Referee 2: Christophe Ridley (RFU)
TMO: Tom Foley (RFU)I thought Barnes was bloody good in the Uruguay game.

So the top refs are Barnes, peyper, BOk and Raynal. The Georgian is nowhere as far as I can see, not even a touch judge. I’m a bit surprised.
-
@Billy-Tell who knows they may be holding back Pearce or the Georgian for a semi final.

compared to the rest of you fuckwits - who can't organize a piss-up in a brewery
Now if there was one insult directed towards Fern posters that was highly unlikely, my vote would be on this one. Not saying it would be a very civil piss-up, mind.

Me too
He's been excellent and is neutral (no skin in the game) going forward

I have friends absolutely gutted that we have Barnes. Grudges or real concern? I’m not unhappy, but thought I’d dig out the list, here it is - make of it what you will

Ireland have the same players playing the same way. We lost that game by 10 points, and this AB side is more than 10 points better than June 2022.
Do they. have the same selection of players this time round?

Keenan; Earls, Ringrose, Henshaw, Lowe; Sexton (capt), Gibson-Park; Porter, Sheehan, Furlong, Beirne, Ryan; O'Mahony, Van der Flier, Doris.

Been to 3 of the 4 indoor ones at Cardiff Rugby Club
Been excellent
-
Barnes, good ref, but does allow a bit of a free for all at the breakdown. Help us? Hinder us? Who knows
-
@Derm-McCrum see, exactly the same players...
TBF I was mainly going starting 15 final test
-
@Derm-McCrum Hansen is an upgrade on Earls.
Aki vs Henshaw (2022) is pretty even. Henshaw was in fine form then. Ireland lose more when Ringrose doesn't play. V underrated player (Conrad Smith like in intelligence).
Forwards on subs bench is stronger overall now for Ireland. Kelleher > Herring. Henderson/Ryan > Treadwell. Healy is a big miss though.
Backs on subs bench is debatable - Carbery = Crowley (though Crowley is showing heaps of potential). McCloskey is a v good centre, but losing an outside back from the run on XV means Ireland lose real potency out wide against top opposition. You may get away with playing Ringrose or JGP against Scotland, but not against France, SA or NZ IMO.
Of the backline, I think Hugo Keenan is the player Ireland can least afford to lose. There isn't anyone else of his calibre on the squad.
