Magnificent partnership. What a talent Ravindra is, and an absolute masterclass from Conway. One of the best one day innings I have seen. He Had the ball on a string.

Meanwhile no NZ batter finished in double figures.
Nice start to the tournament and a great boost to nrr. Comp format looks decent this time, everyone plays everyone then top 4 into semis. Nrr could be important here.

This was an absolute munting. Not far off the 2015WC where Nz beat England so quickly in a day/night match that the stadium didn’t even have to turn the lights on.

Conway and Ravindra became the first New Zealand pair to score centuries in the same men's World Cup match. They also recorded the first-ever instance of two World Cup debutants scoring hundreds in the same game.
Conway's 100 was the fastest for New Zealand at the men's ODI World Cup, reaching his ton in 83 balls, before Ravindra bettered it when he reached his in 82.
22 Innings needed for Conway to complete 1000 runs in ODIs, the fastest for New Zealand. The previous fastest was Turner, who needed 24 innings to reach the milestone.
Conway is also the fastest New Zealand batter to five hundreds in ODIs - Kane Williamson was the previous quickest, needing 56 innings. Only Quinton de Kock (19), Imam-ul-Haq (19) and Dawid Malan (21) took fewer innings than Conway for five hundreds in men's ODIs.

Just watched the highlights of our batting innings. Pretty awesome stuff from the Wellington pair, pretty cool for Ravindra to do that with Conway. Played plenty of minutes together over the last couple of years.
Ravindra has had plenty of wraps on him since he was in school so it's awesome to see him come of age, especially at the highest level. Exciting times for NZ cricket.
Wellington have another player in their squad this year that's got similar wraps on him. Muhammad Abbas (dad played for Pakistan) could be an even bigger talent than Ravindra but he's only 19 so doubt we'll see him for a few years on the international scene.

Pretty impressive performance from NZ given all the outs. Part time bowlers taking wickets and then two sensational batting performances. Only down side is as someone previously mentioned is that the tournament is so long, you could easily play yourself out of form come finals.
However that is still an amazing result over England and the team should be proud

@Canes4life unlike a lot of teams we actually have a pretty good schedule, Ian Smith was laughing with a SA colleague during the last warm up match that perhaps they felt sorry for NZ in the last World Cup lol

@Canes4life with everyone playing everyone, you cant avoid any tough matches.
the draw is pretty good for us, we had a tough match first up which we smashed. Now theres a chance to pick up some wins and ease injured players like Williamson and Southee back before the tough ones come along.
though in saying that given where we are playing and the conditions. We would be foolish to take the Bangles lightly. Even the Dutch cant be taken too lightly.

I think the difference Ian Smith was highlighting that with some of our matches we are in the same city back to back for matches, some other teams are flying everywhere constantly lol.
The worst part for me is that I am in India for a week from tomorrow but never hit the right city to see any games, except from a local pub of course.

Ive added the locations, we play India then Oz in the same city. Same with Pakistan and Sri Lanka to finish pool play.
