Fortunately the "media" aren't the AB selectors then. Cruden or Sopoanga might fight it out for AB 10 jersey but the AB selectors will have BB on bench before whom ever of them doesn't start due to his 10/15 ability and outright pace.

Awesome game.BB unstoppable. Fatialofa played well tirelessly working all game. Gotta be the find of the season so far. Mid field defence was awesome. And the Bus is certainly on his was back. Can't wait for next week.

Can someone confirm that Tony Lamborn actually made his Super Rugby debut tonight? If he did, his game time must have been so short that I missed it. Didn't see the last 2-3 minutes of the game ...

Woodward had a great first half. But he seems to be injury prone at present

A Savea is going to be an enigma for the AB selectors I reckon. Has the engine to play 80 minutes and outrageous skills and speed, but basically doesn't suit the modern AB game due his lack of bulk.

A Savea is going to be the BB of the loose forwards. Crazy good ball skills and outright pace against a tired team = winning reserve plus ability to play 79 minutes if Sam Cane is injured in the kick off.

Not sure I agree with that. He has got to be one of the Strongest guys in the comp when it comes to making ground in contact by pumping his legs and going hard. Don't think there is any lack of bulk or other issues keeping him from an AB jersey. Just a guy called Sam Cane who is ahead of him a few years in development/Experience.

Good Win by the canes in the end.

Barret was good and took on the line with good success. J Savea second good game in a row. very rarely goes backwards in contact.

Midfield didn't seems to do a hell of a lot in attack but were solid on defence.

Oh yeah the turf was a disgrace, that is downright dangerous. Was there also one in SA in the recent Crusaders game that was the same? vs the Sharks maybe. Not good enough.

An excellent performance from Beauden Barrett, he has the pace and skills to tear defence apart.

Fifita can't do a Bardoul or Seu. Looked off the pace at lock.

Am liking Fatialofa though. Why is he not a "proper" lock?

I am also mystified. The ball appeared to be out of the ruck. just sitting there waiting for the Rebels halfback to pick it up and the Canes blindside flanker stepped through the loose pileup, starting form a perfectly legitimate onside position.

Yes. A weird one. Since when can't you drive through the middle if a ruck?

Good performance by the Canes. Only spoiled by second half finishing. Probably left another 20 or more points on the paddock.

He was one of the best locks in the ITM Cup last year. I was surprised the Blues didn't sign him. He's a good pick up for only a WTG contract.

Geoffrey Cridge must a be a seriously good player if he is rated above Fatialofa, given he holds a full contract. Just a shame no one other than those that turn up for Hastings Rugby and Sports club matches ever gets to see him play, if they are lucky.
