I'm intrigued you watched the game, and one of the big things you took out of it was de Groot isn't the answer? The scrum largely held whilst he was on, but once he departed Williams got wrecked. He also carried much better than Williams.

I'm intrigued you watched the game, and one of the big things you took out of it was de Groot isn't the answer? The scrum largely held whilst he was on, but once he departed Williams got wrecked. He also carried much better than Williams.
De Groot fine. Williams fine. Locks?

Locks weren't good at all, and I think that should be taken into account when saying our scrum got destroyed. I wouldn't mark it against Williams, more so a praise of de Groot.

It won't happen now unless injuries occur but there's a serious argument to put DMac at 15. DMac has a better boot than Beauden and is much quicker.

Fellas, a bit of calm aye? Both have been very good this year, one game where everything went wrong shouldn't change that, particularly with Barrett. McKenzie would have been just as crap playing behind that beaten pack.

The press got excited by our kicking game beating the Boks. Our exits are shit. Gifting position. It’s a bullshit strategy kicking short when you are under pressure.

One bonus is there is absolutely no expectation from me we will win this WC, probably first time I have ever gone into a WC feeling that. I can enjoy the cup without pressure and if we do turn it around I will be stoked.
I felt that with last RWC I was hopeful there was some dry powder, but not optimistic. I have Hansen benefit of the doubt, not this time tho

There's very few strong distance kickers in the country - been a problem for years.

Back to Ofa and Nepo as the reserve props (depending on Lomax's injury). de Groot is still an unco around the field, the penalty he conceded at the breakdown a good example of that.

You had expectation we would win in 1999 after getting destroyed in Sydney in an eerily similar scoreline to this game pre RWC?
