Also, speaking of past it players
Inevitably, coming off the back of a loss last time out is fuelling some of the fire in the All Blacks camp.
“Absolutely,” Barrett agreed. “That was a huge learning for us around how we didn’t get to the level we needed to and why. Of course, it’s banked. And it’s added to the library of learnings that we have sitting there.”
Sitting there, not actioned or improved upon, just sitting there

Foster is an absolute fluffybunny, I hate him so much as a coach. The worst, by quite some margin, of any ABs coach of a decent period of time, with so many shitty records to his name. And he can't own up when his team puts what is objectively the worst performance ever in black
"I think both teams deserve a lot of credit, they put a lot into that game and it was a great spectacle."
What the actual fucking planet is he on? In what way do the ABs deserve credit? For bending over and taking it hard without lube?
"So, I’d rather have those lessons today, a couple of weeks out than in a fortnight"
Except they are the same lesson the ABs have been getting since c2017 and you and your fucking bunch of numpties have not learned. STOP FUCKING KICKING ANYTHING BUT LONG IN YOUR 22. Even just that would improve their performance, and the fact it is done every single match means it is your fucking idea. Earn the right to go wide, paly off nine some times, and stop picking obviously past it players. Get a captain with some fucking personality (I know that would just show him up).
Jesus, I can't wait until next year, a coach with a proven record as head and something beyond the personality of a fucking turnip
yes I have been drinking
Absolute gold, mate. Post of the year so far!

Yeah i really struggle to see what Beauden brings these days. He's no longer fast, he doesn't have a long kicking game and is now shy in contact.
The only thing he ever had was a bullshit plays against the Wallabies, TBF...

Not at all in his prime he was doing that versus everyone, there is a reason he was known as BBBBB in SA circles

Excellent interview and measured responses
How he's not captain is baffling

Is it me or does anyone else think it baffling and ironic in equal measure that the most dominant team in Super Rugby history plays a brand of rugby which is the blueprint for success at International Test level?
-
@MiketheSnow No, it is not just you. If you followed super rugby this year you would have seen the Chiefs top the table before losing the final to the Crusaders by playing a long territorial kicking game all season with McKenzie and Stevenson.
Our coaching / tactics are appalling. -
@NTA Yeah I noticed that. And Roigard was also taken out away from the ball at some point and got up holding his head, kind of got face planted.
If Malcolm Marx is going to play the ‘look at me I’m injured by foul play’ card, or Sexton and Biggar are constantly berating the ref then you’ve got 2 responses - Carry on playing the old fashioned way or at some point play the same card. Eventually going with option 1 you get taken for a mug.

Hasn't been given anywhere near enough time in the saddle at 15.
Did we really need to see this much of Beaudy, Aaron Smith, Savea, Coles for example over the last two years?
4 years on from the last World Cup dual pivot debacle and we still have Beaudy at 15, ALB still floating around, a winger at 13, Aaron Smith being played into the ground. No back up locks. No one with any meaningful minutes at 8 other than Savea. Next cab off the rank is Sotutu and he was jettisoned. Then Sowakula and he was Jettisoned. No one with meaningful minutes at 7 this year other than Cane and we have had locks playing at 6 on and off until the last few matches.
DMAC is in, plays well then he is out. Samisoni is in, plays well, then he is out. Leicester is in , plays well and then he is out, Finau is in, plays well and then he is out.
Its doing them all a disservice.
I still don't know what to make of Jacobsen. I feel he hasn't had enough of a go.
Have to agree with all of that. Still think Ardie is a great but that wasn't his best game. no one played that well bar Cam Roigard when he came on.

Thank god and thor and selma's tits he's head coach next year

Sonja has spoken and how dare any of us lesser mortals disagree with her? They might as well give the Springboks the Webb Ellis trophy again now.

Yup Carley is pedantic. And the first yellow was a team yellow and Scott Barret had a brain fart for his second. so we played against only 14 men… in a disposable Barbarians “test” where we had a 7/1 bench … Emptied after 45 minutes against a now significantly weakened pack…. Boks have a LOT to work on too … but think after Auckland they were always going to need to fire especially with Siya back. Glad they did but game wasn’t important other than both teams needing to check combinations and have a proper hard 80 especially defensively which we didn’t get nearly as much as they e needed imo. if the table had been flipped and we were playing 14 against 15, I don’t think after 60 minutes we would’ve looked any better. I have no doubt that the World Cup opener against France in two weeks time is going to be nothing like the match we watched last night. There is simply way too much pedigree in both the New Zealand and French squads. I think the Bokke did 14 man ABs a bit of a favour…. Guys are going to be so tight after that...Frogs at home is going to need tight as baseline entry level … Don’t write your guys off after a 14 man BaaBaas sketchy ref warmup…We will see you again shortly I have zero doubt 🤞🏻
Smile of the match was definitely Andrew Mehrtens being spotted on his phone on the big screen and Brian Habana giving him a ribbing😂

So a28 point loss isn't objectively the worst ever? Carry on in your dream world. He at no point in the interview admits anything but good learnings. Not 'we didn't prepare well enough' nor 'the tactics weren't quite right' doing shitty little kicks in our 22.Just we will learn. Except they don't and haven't over the last 6 odd years

God you're boring @Machpants
I'm sure it was Ian Foster who told them to give away dumb penalty after dumb penalty. To dive head first at a player on the ground. To miss tackles. To miss goal kicks.
How bad are NZ rugby players that they would be amazing except their coach told them not to
