Haven't finished the game
Haven't read the threadI assume everyone is taking the advantage to blame this on Ian Foster
That's deluded. This is 100% an individual performance issue. The players let themselves down very fucking badly tonight. Very fucking badly. Dumb fucking penalties, missed tackles, missed ruck assignments, dropped balls. Have a look in the fucking mirror boys because you let your coaches down today.
You fucking assume wrong. Fucking.
The players seem to be copping the vast majority of the blame.

Yeah i really struggle to see what Beauden brings these days. He's no longer fast, he doesn't have a long kicking game and is now shy in contact.
Its walking like a duck and quacking like a duck im afraid.

@Rancid-Schnitzel Exactly and from memory that is what Israel Dagg was very good at,i which helped us win.

Hasn't been given anywhere near enough time in the saddle at 15.
Did we really need to see this much of Beaudy, Aaron Smith, Savea, Coles for example over the last two years?
4 years on from the last World Cup dual pivot debacle and we still have Beaudy at 15, ALB still floating around, a winger at 13, Aaron Smith being played into the ground. No back up locks. No one with any meaningful minutes at 8 other than Savea. Next cab off the rank is Sotutu and he was jettisoned. Then Sowakula and he was Jettisoned. No one with meaningful minutes at 7 this year other than Cane and we have had locks playing at 6 on and off until the last few matches.
DMAC is in, plays well then he is out. Samisoni is in, plays well, then he is out. Leicester is in , plays well and then he is out, Finau is in, plays well and then he is out.
Its doing them all a disservice.
I still don't know what to make of Jacobsen. I feel he hasn't had enough of a go.

It's also what kept him in the team when he lost his running game.
Now, it's: Let's run a blindside move off a 5 metre scrum...and then get the winger pushed over the touchline at the 22...
Obviously I don't like Foster. And he's fat. But I can't believe he's instructing them to do stupid shit like that.
-
@Rancid-Schnitzel something we do alot is move left 2 phases then back right 2 phases...all we are doing is running into heavy traffic, need to go more or wider one way before pulling it back to spread the defence.

Quick stat look shows we only won 66% (10/15) of our lineouts. Fuuuuck.
We tackled at 83%. Won't win like that.
But surprisingly SA was even worse at 80%. You know what they say about stats...

@Stargazer I assume Fozzie means he won't be unavailable for the RWC, not the French test?
And while Lomax will need to be medically assessed after the defeat, Foster said he doubts that the 27-year-old will be unavailable come France.
"Tyrel's pretty bad, actually," said Foster post-match. "He's got quite a big cut, it's right through into the muscle of the thigh.

Vermuelen is it? Punching Jacobsen 3 times in the head.
The third of which seemed particularly forceful.
Cane asked Carley about this to which he replied "no foul play" "and to stop holding players in the rucks".
-
@Rancid-Schnitzel that wasn't a set move to run blind FFS. Ardie accidently tapped the ball blind. Had Talea kicked the ball ahead, they bay have been planted further down field for a while.

So, I need to go for a walk before the big game of the weekend in 2 hours, but not really sure what to make of that.
Ryan was getting a lot of fluffing in the lead up to this match, therefore is he taking the lions share of the blame for this loss considering the ABs failed spectacularly in the set piece?
Also, why the fuck don't NZ teams clear the ball from our own 22. It seems like a disease in all NZ rugby. Two of the tries (I think) can be partially attributed us fucking around.
Was Smith's pass to Cane behind the line the worst pass of his entire career?
The first scrum penalty was hilarious, the ref said for elbow touching the ground, on the replay he raises his arm before the elbow touches the ground. Plus, Vermeulen should have been penalised for lying in the ruck, not babied by the ref for a non injury. We probably deserved a lot of those early penalties but not sure we were getting any rub of the green.
Roigard had great input.
Not a great night for the Barrett whanau.
In that early period in between the first and second tries where we held them out for ages I think Cane did some captaining, the type of stuff people complain he doesn't do, he was questioning the ref and relaying stuff to the players, and for a time it was working.
I'm not sure whether this actually hindered our preparation or helped us - this seems like a good moment to make a pact.
