A wee bit before 1991 but just shows how much quicker the game flowed along in those days not to mention how much smaller players were before they became gym bunnies. The game seemed to move along at quicker tempo than it does nowadays, unless you were unlucky enough to be caught with the ball by the 'Ikale Tahi (or slightly after in a few cases) in which case you were individually slowed up rather markedly!

Webb doesn't even remember scoring that third try

Yep, checked YouTube vid. Mid 2nd half. Scotland were 6-3 up at break. Webb levelled, Gav missed and Rob Andrew got drop goal late in 2nd half.

@Sitka-Spruce good to see the OG turning up to say Hi

Will make sure any future version is updated.
God that was so long ago ...

This was the worst tournament ever. Split between 4 countries and days without any matches. Rugby was drab too and the ABs needed refreshing but wylie stuck with the old crew.

And as we're back o this thread, Campese's response to the Haka was something else. Luckily for posterity, he backed it up.

This tournament was a bit of a shambles and a lot of the Rugby was drab.
There were three high points.
Western Samoa shocked Wales at home with Frank Bunce announcing himself on the Test stage.
The England-France QF game was ferocious. Will Carling’s team channeled the spirit of Agincourt in their victory.
Australia, especially Tim Horan and David Campese, gave one of the great performances of all time in the Dublin Semi Final. The Day of the Tackle.
Elsewhere though, it was a poor tournament. The weakest of the World Cups in my opinion.
