@KiwiMurph if nothing, he peaks a bit more interest form Across the Ta$man, winds up a few Kiwis...

    @dogmeat

I won't even mention the spelling mistake or appalling use (or non-use) of capital letters.

They’re not being subtle, they’re going to take us on upfront, try to stop the AB gain line, flood the breakdown to mess up our ball. They’ve got the personnel to do it, will be interesting to watch.

Sounds similar to the game plan for RWC 03 Semi Final. That day he targeted Jerry Collins as he was the primary ball carrier. I wonder if Frizell is in for similar treatment on Saturday.

I think we've missed a trick with no DMac on the bench. Surely he's the sort of player that will tear Aussie to shreds in the last 20 mins, be it at 10 or 15.

Agreed. As much as I like Caleb Clarke he’s a waste on the bench ie, no flexibility. DMac would’ve been much better.

I'm the same, but wonder if they not thinking of giving Jordan a run at 15 if BB or RMo comes off?? Just answering questions?
    I just guessing.

he was the ONLY ball carrier in the team. Nothing else in the pack, nothing in the backline. As physically an unimposing team as you can put together.

@booboo aside from the 'peak' error, all others were deliberate 🙂

His real plan was to stop the All Blacks carving the Wallabies up on counter attack, by kicking the ball into the grandstands. Get a jammy intercept ahead and then the wheels predictably fell off when fuck all of our forwards could carry over the advantage line.

I also like Jacobson off the bench, but have to think this means DP and AS going 80?

They've got options. Jacobson could come on at 8 and AS could shift to 7. AS could get subbed and Whitelock comes on as captain. Jacobson could come on at 7 in place of Dalton (especially as Wallabies don't have an out and out 7 in the 23).

With this trio I think I'd just bring Jacobson on at 7. He and Blackadder can cover all three positions and that should be their role.

Also, I think Eddie's shtick is getting a little old. He has a backline with no combinations, I doubt it's going to shine.

Tom Hooper as an open side? After his abject 30mins against the Boks at blind side? Valetini again starting at 8, not where he's been carving up at SR?

Eddie's either going for set piece certainty or he's lost his marbles.

I maintain if we lose this fixture, there should be a lynching.

And had been told not to ruck by the dome headed dickhead in charge in some of the final days when you could do some actual good rucking.

I checked the scoring for the first time in years - one try each but 5 penalties to Oz. I had completely forgotten that.

Clarke on the bench seems a bit of a waste, he has not impressed this year apart from one good, quick pass vs Argentina that helped set up J Barrett's try. Other than that, good team.

Any announcement on how long Sam Cane is out for and how close to fitness he is?

Overall, I’m liking the look of that team.

    Nothing serious

Foster confirmed Cane’s injury was “not serious” and he’d likely return for Bledisloe II in Dunedin next week and said he wanted continuity to allow his top lineup the opportunity to evolve..

His taking the ball flat on the line in Argentina was a thing of beauty

@nzzp I don’t know what he’s done to become out of favour. One of the best during Super and I would personally still have him over Beaudy.

It’s funny how it becomes obvious later, I never picked up on it at the time .

Maybe they saved us from embarrassment, what was England going to do to that pack ?

easy to ignore given the months leading up to it

Yes we lost to England, and that should have been a red flag, but that team at least had a destructive midfield. And there were enough "yeah but" moments to allow us to move smoothly on
Then they played insanely beautiful rugby stuffing the Boks and Wallabies away.
And then we won back the Bledisloe (that should have been the "wait on" game)
Then we romped through the Group and the Quarters (after a "scare" from Wales)

Even the semi, if that early try is awarded we probably go on to win it.
The final is not a foregone conclusion even in hindsight. Goal kicking and field kicking would probably have been more of a factor than the England pack, that would have swallowed ours, but not exactly created a heap themselves.

I still don't understand Caleb Clarke's naming on the bench. He only covers the left wing spot. Weird.

Jordan to fb might be a move they want to try , fozzie hinted at it before the last game
