@Bovidae I heard on the Breakdown last night that they are going to try and replicate the World Cup travel schedule and arrive in Melbourne only two days out from the match to get accustomed to that shorter turnaround than what they are used to.

On the team this week itself, I wouldn't make any drastic changes apart from giving some guys minutes off the bench. I think we should play our best available side and lock away the Bled for another year.

@Canes4life given it is a fortnight away, no reason it shouldnt be pretty much full strength, maybe with a few tweaks to the 23

Stevenson has been released, so he won't be playing.

All Blacks hopeful Shaun Stevenson will leave the team before their Bledisloe Cup trip to Melbourne in a fortnight, despite impressing in training.

Mafileo is still with the squad though.

    Stuff

Ah Jesus . What a waste.

Despite the losses, coach Eddie Jones has fired a warning shot at the All Blacks, before the sides meet for the first Bledisloe Cup match on July 29.

"While it seems doom and gloom at the moment, it's not, he said. "Beating a side here is a fair bit of optimism that we'll be able to change fairly quickly in the next couple of weeks.

"If I was the All Blacks, I'd look out."

Watching the speed and physical intensity of the AB v Boks game, it is fairly clear we're about to get double-fisted in front of a crowd that will mostly be Kiwis living here or looking for a weekend in Melbourne.

Record score coming up, despite the chance of a late shower dampening proceedings.

EDIT: I mean to say, as I said elsewhere, if the ABs win by less than 50, it'll be a fail on their part.

If I was Eddie , I’d be trying to take advantage that the abs may just be a tad complacent after being 2-0 up against a team that is 0-2 , not firing warning shots 😁

It is about media attention. Like Cheika, he wants to keep the spotlight on his bullshit rather than the performances.

@kiwiinmelb we know Eddie is someone to be wary of and has masterminded our downfall before, but can he turn this one around?

TBF I think it would be harder planning to take us down this time, as our game is less refined than in the past when he has done it...I mean we have been quick out of the blocks 2 tests in a row, and put together some damn good rugby 2 weeks in a row.

I would hope that there shouldnt be any complacency, particularly after the past few years of ups and downs.

Gatland & Hansen were experts at this when they coached Wales

Possession rugby is dead interesting factoid "Note how the Wallabies completed just 102 passes in the match (against Arg). To place that in perspective, the All Blacks, in the 3 mins 10 seconds of continuous play that led to Aaron Smith’s opening try, made 36 passes; more than one third of the Wallabies match total in just a single passage of play."

Yeah get that but I remember before the 2011 wc semi , and some Aussie players , kearns etc taking shots at Nz’s choking etc .

And nick Farjones saying , I think it’s a big mistake before playing Nz giving them motivation, our best victories have come from taking them by surprise against the odds . I always believe it’s best to not poke the bear and try and take them by surprise in the game itself

@family-man Yep but perhaps realistically we would all really want pretty similar team running out for the ABs as played Saturday night, depending on results we may see some changes back at Dunedin test.

I agree. Secure the Bledisloe first, blooding new guys second

It's the Wallabies coached by EJ and we're still coached by Foster. I won't be counting any chickens until the Bled is behind lock and key.

It'll be a 50-point flogging in Melbourne and a 30-point flogging in Dunedin when you run out your B team.

I give no real prospect of a Wallabies win for this fixture. They're just two games into trying to change the way they play. Some of their good players are injured or coming back from injury and hence aren't in form.

It will be interesting how the Wallabies play. They cannot persist with kicking possession to the ABs backs.

Eddie is going to have to change tactics

ABs have yet to be tested by up tempo wide play this year - that feels like a better option for the Wallabies.

Except test rugby rarely works that way. Sure between tier 1 and 2, but I think it will be closer, much closer. Hopefully an abs win but by 10 or less

Not going to happen. Aus will win one of them. Happens before every RWC.
