@voodoo that’s not part of the pact!
Ooh please tell me there’s an armband with this pact. Love a good armband.

Twitter reminds me that the last time the Boks faced the forces of evil in Auckland ...
Why would they go to Auckland to play against themselves!?

@Victor-Meldrew no excuses. Gotta beat the weather, the wicked bounce of the ball, the crowd and the lunacies of the French ref.
Oh and the most successful team on earth. It’s supposed to be bloody impossible. That’s what makes it satisfying.
-
@DaGrubster thats it - you’ve violated the pact by flinging this rancid bait out.
Anyway, Messam was asking for it, leaving his soft, delicate, inviting throat exposed like that, the dreadful tease.

And then did something completely retarded to get sent off
On the plus side, it set up that epic J'Burg encounter - arguably the greatest game of the modern-era. So good, it was hard not to cheer on the opposite side. Interestingly, Nigel Owens said it was one of the easiest games to ref as "both sides just wanted to play rugby".
Full game.

Yes, it was a game for the ages. Had it recorded on my sky box for some time and have watched it quite a few times !

So news comes out today about McCaw meeting with the ABs leadership in January and McCaw was at the captain's run today - meanwhile ABs all wear black boots all of a sudden.
Coincidence? I think not.
Love the picture and love your thesis.
"You're shitting on everything I and great men before me have built you bunch of feckless clowns"
"Im angry"
"Tell them how angry I am Liam"
"He's really angry lads"

Wtf is going on ABs social media this year.
Last year/previous years they used to have interviews with Foz/players when the team was named, they used to post press conferences and they used to have 'In The Sheds' videos after the game and now all of that has been canned.
Talk about bare mininum.
IIRC, people were arguing last year there was too much of this sort of stuff, it was distracting, showed a lack of focus and a symptom of a poor culture.
Maybe they've done some thinking and made some changes.
nope, not how i remember it at all, i remember being happy about the odd glance into the minds making decisions
I don't have a problem with it either, so yeah. There were 1-2 articles I read querying if it was a good thing, overdone or distracting. (There were also a few comments on here criticising haircuts, dress-sense, attitude etc but that's a bit different.)
Good mindset in Mendoza I thought.
Definitely a view I have held on here. Sunshine boys I call them . A few in the squad were all fur coat and no knickers. The social media drives me bonkers too.
To elaborate. I hate the humanisation of the Allblacks (and other teams) social media accounts. They should be matter of fact tweets only. Allblacks are an entity, not a person.
"Final score NZ 26- SA 24" for example is fine....
However....NOT..."Onya Springboks , Safe travels, See you again in Durban".
I may not share the sentiment of the tweet as a fan. Dont be gracious on my/our behalf. We could have been hatcheted by a ref, had one of our blokes taken out by a cheap shot etc.
It's not for some PR intern to be tweeting "onya" on our behalf. It's so performative and insincere. I despise it. The Allblacks "machine" has been waaaaay too nice for a good while now and it seeps onto the pitch.
As I alluded to last year we had O'Mahoney ripping the piss out of our captain and Beaudy Barrett nearly hospitalised by Kurt Lee Arendse and there wasn't an opposition collar felt. It took until the second game against SA (and Frizell to his credit) to start a bit of biff when our 9 got taken out in a cheap act.
No dickheads policy sure. But don't be a bunch of doormats either.

I agree your sentiment on doormats but some of the stuff the ABs have done in the last few years, presentations to opposition players on 100 Tests etc, I really like. I might find some of the social media stuff a bit cringe-worthy but that's the world we live in.
I don't have a problem with "Safe travels, See you again in Durban" for the Bokke - hard bastards on the field, generally decent blokes off it. Some other countries, though, can fuck right off.
