Fellas with actual knowledge of the rules - what was the go with the penalty we earned when JB (I think) ran upright and couldn’t get to ground, but Angus made all the Argies let go of him?
He got a one knee down then the Aggies lifted him back up again. Penalty, they didn't release
Didn’t see his knee touch, tks

Why? It's generally accepted here that you don't post spoilers.
I think it's impossible to have a hard rule about that. It changes from match to match. In general if you're in a live match thread you shouldn't be surprised if you see another result or hints about the other games. Particularly after full time
When there's two NPC games played at the same time, it's more of a rule
With a game like this, AB's early in the morning and the Saffa/Aussie game overnight, posting about the other game should probably wait until a bit later
I deleted a couple of posts that were talking only about the Aussie/Saffa result as this game kicked off. It spoiled the result for me but I wasn't surprised I saw it in this thread
And the fact it was said during the fucking game so unless you had it on mute you were proper fucked

Cully nails it re: the attack. A lot of good stuff in this article.
What was striking about the All Blacks was how few times they went into predictable three-man pod systems in attack. McKenzie, meanwhile, frequently stepped in at first receiver rather than a tight forward, and he always had willing runners to choose from. A plea to New Zealand’s Super Rugby teams – follow suit and empower your No 10s: they don’t have to spend most of the game sitting out the back waiting for a backdoor play.
I wonder if this is a Joe Schmidt influence, I can't help but think he has spent the summer figuring out how to beat the NH sides etc.

If Cane gets any form of censure for that then rugby is fucked
Security weren’t good enough, Cane was
Who know what the intentions of the invader were
Needed to be stopped asap
Move on
Nothing to see here

Angus had one of his best matches
But was very perplexed that Argie got sent to the bin on Ardie’s try for repeated infringements but no YC against NZ for Argentinian’s first try for doing exactly the same
As I’ve posted before, infringing prevents you from scoring then YC
You score, move on
Don’t need the double whammy

Woulda looked better if he put a big shoulder on him...nothing should come of it, I mean at least he didn't abuse an official...
That would require a hard shoulder….
Mine is the red n black coat

I thought he just stuck out a foot to trip him? Not legal in rugby but fine for pitch invaders
Look again. It was a nice kick. Argentinian football fans should appreciate that
they'd prefer a hand from God..

Exciting to see how Ryan's forward nous stacks up against the big boys. We'll know soon enough.

Remember when Richie was hailed a hero for dropping an elbow into that fat Saffa, now Cane does his best to preempt that situation and protect the ref and it's now an issue to some.
Richie pulled him off but AJ Venter was the one who punched him.

What a friggen hiding, awesome start to the season. Stoked to see that backline go so well, DMac-Jordie-Rieko with Beauden organising things from the back is seriously threatening if the forwards get any sort of parity. They will only get better with more time together. The wailing and gnashing of teeth over Beauden's selection at 15 was OTT, as expected, he's still world class at the back and his experience will be crucial at the RWC.
Mo'unga should be able to slot into that formation as well, but he needs to be taking the ball at first receiver more than he has in the past the same way DMac does. Our 10 has to be directing play at test level, not always looking for mis-matches out wide that generally don't exist.
We definitely got some momentum on the EOYT, so great to see us continue to build on that. An in form DMac adds a lot to the team as well, whether at 10, 15 or the bench.
The weekends results set up an absolute cracker of a test against SA - bring it on!

I'd prefer Smith's service to Christies too.
The drop-off was really big. Would prefer Weber.

Or Fakatava.
But really Roigard please, give him a crack

Good first up win, after a shaky first play. I don't want to be too negative but what the fuck was up with that? Clear from the first ruck, don't create a second and then pass to a player in a worse position for a kick.
Not helped by Nugget's foot slipping

Someone mentioned on here that Coles(?) had said he was taking time to settle in. Maybe that will influence his debut, but Christie has gone backwards IMHO and doesn't offer much.

How much trouble is Cane going to be in for this?
None, surely.
Good on him!

Yeah, hopefully with another week in camp he'll start to settle in and be ready to take the bench spot, as on ability alone he's pretty clearly our 2nd best HB right now.

I wouldn't take that too seriously - Roigard's his Hurricanes teammate and it looked like a joke.
I reckon there's a decent chance we'll see a couple of new caps on the bench this week and Roigard is a good chance of being one.
