Argentina v All Blacks

Yeah, hopefully with another week in camp he'll start to settle in and be ready to take the bench spot, as on ability alone he's pretty clearly our 2nd best HB right now.
Huge potential and def. hope a bench spot next week over Christie. I do wonder if Foster & Co. made the wrong choice between Christie & Weber
-
We need to give game time to potential gems Tamaiti Williams, Cameron Roigard and Samipeni Finau. Potent. Sir Foz has gained huge BPs but this needs to happen. At least 20 mins off the bench

@Old-Samurai-Jack I suspect Jordan will get right wing, I really think BB is considered so good at communication from the back, they will be tempted to keep him there. At test level etc, the 15 is usually the one telling the backs what he sees ahead in behind opposition.
-
Be interesting to see the team , I would guess they had a plan to start dmac in that game and Richie the next game and will probably stick with that plan, despite the temptation to see how dmac would go against the boks
Dunno, just a hunch

@mariner4life doesn't fit the narrative around here.

🤣🤣🤣 at the twits saying R. Mo is shit. Aaron Smith's passing was a fucking masterclass. He had DMac running hard and flat and that ball was right in front of him every. single. time. R.Mo basically came on with the ABs in full Fozz-ball. An absolute average second 40.

Yeah very hard to compare the two because of the game situation, but I can't help but wonder whether the midfield playing as effectively as they did was down to McKenzie.
That's the biggest take away for me regarding the backs in this game. I loved the way RI was running off Jordie's shoulder. They would often both be in a position to hit it up and McKenzie could pick his target. And with RI being on Jordie's shoulder there was the option for Jordie to pop the pass. It draws in defenders and this is how McKenzie got the room for his break leading to BB's try.
While it looks basic it's not easy for midfielders to time their run in unison like that. They need to trust the 10 is going to run on to the ball and time the pass. Something that BB has not been that good at his entire career and something that RM has regressed in the last few seasons after being one of his strengths.
-
Aaron Smith's passing was perfect. R.Mo got garbage. The backs went nowhere once Fozz-ball was in full swing.
-
@Joans-Town-Jones think was more the disruption with all the subs, but in particular with Christie who really has regressed in the past year or so, particularly his passing and game management.

@Bones I'm pretty sure the key pass was Clark and he's getting no love for it
Clarke showed great hands there, very quick and on the money. BB still did really well though to beat his man and draw and pass perfectly. Love watching a bloke running at pace with the ball in 2 hands.
As an aside, I know we should expect someone at this level to make the last play 99 times out of 100, but it feels like lately it’s way more hit and miss for us

@Chris-B by my reckoning Frizell has had 2 half-decent games out of 25. If he continues to be selected, then hopefully his next one will be in the quarter final. Though based on his average to date, his next decent game will be in 12.5 tests, so more likely next year some time.
Two???
Crikey - you reckon he's played BOTH the half-decent games anyone has in the 6 jersey in the past 5 years.
Akira's fans will be out for your blood!

That’s because it is. Watch any top level comp around the world and those plays that were the norm for guys that played in the 80s and 90s, just aren’t there. Draw and pass seems a lost art.

@Nepia Here's some guy called Reece Labuschagne who will really annoy you...
Carried with bad intention, committing several Argentine defenders in a performance All Blacks great Jerome Kaino would've been proud of.
Cool, now I can alternate calling you TJ and Reece.

The comms when showing the replay even said the key to the try was the pass skipping Clarke…as the ball was in his hands being passed!
