Hurricanes 2024

@foobaNZ George seems pretty confident. If it doesn't end up true it would be very hard to trust anything he says going forward.
I hope he does stay, he's the future of the club and it would be salt in the wound stuff if he went on and had great success elsewhere.

I think the point about Israel Dagg rings true though... and of course, you don't know when the contract was signed. Entirely possible this was signed back in March, before he was even anywhere close to the All Blacks.

@Canes4life As we all no there is gonna b alot of movement in super squads and every side chasing different players for contracts there seems to b alot of players coming off contract or moving overseas have been told of another player not mentioned moving franchise also, but haven't had it %100 confirmed as yet ,but Most likely will happen, on the Roigard it will happen unless a massive turn around in the player himself in breaking contract but can't c it and I only tell u what I hear and get told by certain agent.

Remember Karl Tu'inukuafe and the Chiefs - the same situation as Roigard and the Canes. An injury replacement who took his opportunity, and eventually moved back home.
-
I think in some ways, Roigard going to the Chiefs would actually show that the younger generation (everyone under the age of 35) actually feel a sense of tribalism towards their local Super side, because that is who they grew up supporting... which on a wider point is definitely a positive, because this is often the stick used to beat SR with.

@george33 fair enough, it sounds like you are pretty adamant so I'll take your word for it. Does the other player not mentioned play for the Canes? I don't think I can take any further disappointment after potentially losing Roigard.

It will be a huge cockup by the Canes if they lose any of their key players. So just hope it doesn't happen.
And Roigard is an outstanding prospect in a key position. We might still have TJ but his career is almost over. And all the other top prospects are already claimed
-
Don't see why roigard would go apart from being home makes more sense him staying as he would be first choice and no one to compete against TJ would be his back up . Will see what the whispers around the hood is and report back 😆
-
Id be guutered If it's true

TJ has said he has got alot more to offer rugby, once thru his injury.
He's 32 next year. And unlikely to make the ABs. He's unlikely to stick around. Maybe for one more year at most
Mind you if he wants to stick around for another season and help players come through would be good.

This fish has been gutted, it's had its guts removed. A terrible sick feeling in your stomach - a bad thing
This house has been guttered, a good thing as it stops water damage from rain

But I, too, would be gutted if Roigard left the Canes, and I hope it is right up there with blues coach announcement accuracy
