Excellent news. Thanks for posting. Losing a player of his quality would have pissed me off. Now I'm feeling much happier. Just hope your source is right and we keep all our top players. I want to compete for the title in 2024 not just make up the numbers again.
Now to find a top forward and defense coach.

Rumours are what makes a forum like this great. It is fantastic that people are willing to share what their contacts provide. Keep the info rolling George! The vibrancy when something like that drops is awesome.

No idea when his contract expires (think he may have just signed a new one) but the Canes should be/should have pushed hard for Naitoa Ah Kuoi. Local boy, and not a guaranteed starter at the Chiefs. No idea where his partner comes from, but reckon he could have been lured home.
-
@Canes4life Yep that is very true... Canes have lacked a true dominant first since Broadhurst retired.
-
@Canes4life Kane Le'aupepe as well would have had many caps if not for injury. Over 2metres.
-
@Canes4life Michael Fatiolofa and Naitoa Ah Koui are very closely related. Can't recall exactly how but was told what it was by Naitoa's mother's uncle a year or two back!

This has been posted in the Exodus thread but gigantic lock James Blackwell has signed to play over in the Japan Top League.
The average height of the Canes forwards will drop significantly as a result of this announcement.
-
@Canes4life He will arrive in Japan thinking "at last I will be a normal sized Lock" then find himself marking 2.06m Saffa's.

Hope he's still available for Wellington. At NPC level he's fine.
And I hope it goes well for him in Japan. Now for the Canes to find at least one tall quality lock
So one unknown status has re-signed and one is leaving. Hopefully we will find out more soon
-
@Winger I hope so too, especially considering we've already lost Plumtree. Nevertheless it's a great opportunity for the likes of Hugo Plummer and Anthony Pettett (who are both significantly taller than Blackwell) to step up and stake a claim for a couple of those Hurricanes contracts.

For the Lions or Canes? Where did you see this?

For the Canes. PRS has re-signed for 2014.
Edit you've missed HB from you unknown contract status list

@Winger oh lol, that's because I thought I was in the Lions thread.
Hopefully the person leaving is JSavea. Time for him to move on I'd say but him falling short of being the top Super Rugby try scorer might just keep him around unfortunately.
