Cruden's goal kicking has been pretty much 100% consistent this year.

Hmm, I can only be convinced if Cruden is going to show some consistently good goal kicking. If not, I'd say Sopoaga has a good chance.

Sopoaga has said the the AB coaches have told him that in order to fit better with the game they play he needs to take on the line more. This is where Cruden (and BB) have it all over him.

Sopoaga has also said that doesn't necessarily fit with the gameplans of the Highlanders and he isn't going to go against those only to enhance his AB chances.

As for goalkicking, Rennie has also stated that AC will take up the kicking duties after the bye. AC has said he is dead keen to take on the responsibility. His goalkicking comeback was delayed a little bit by D Mac being on a good roll.

I reckon Dagg should have a word to Blackadder about taking over the kicking when he comes back.

Mo'aga has been kicking pretty badly, and it would definately improve Daggs AB chances if they go with Cruden at 10

Why does everyone think AC is a poor kicker anyway?

Perhaps they should've brought Cruden back last week because DMac had a shocker

Not suggesting that, but it's pretty hard to judge his form in that area if he isn't kicking for the chiefs.

Except that Cruden has been playing at least two levels above Soponga this year.

Cruden is an established, quality All Black. Soponga is the one with everything to prove.

Cruden is a lock for the 10 jumper.

I heard Rennie on the wireless last week and they said they had been in touch with Hansen and Co re: Cruden not kicking and they had no issues with it and said it would not impact their view of him.

This discussion is giving me a bit of deja vu. Did anyone save Winger's meltdown over the lack of Sopoaga in the RWC squad? Something along the lines of "even if we end up winning the RWC, it'll just be luck."

It will still be there somewhere (looks like at moment threads go back to pre-RWC) it will be a matter of finding the correct thread, although it was probably in the squad thread.

Off-topic but compared to other rugby forums the ability to find past posts (even my own) is very poor on this forum. The search function is not great.
