Unsure if the above team is correct
But Canes give away a lot of height in the lineout
Blackwell 1.90
Delany 1.95
Flanders 1.93
IWL 1.97Compared
Frost 2.05
Neville 2.02
Hooper 1.99Your’e saying this like it’s a new thing.
They did last week against the Crusaders and it wasn’t a problem then.
( once Whitelock went off and Taylor got sin binned )

Agree. I should have added again. But coaches likely thought it was fine last week as they won
It Rob Valetini at 6. So hes only 1.93 so the height adv is less now

@foobaNZ Pouri probably hasn’t done much wrong but Numia and Mafileo have been very solid so they’ve been hard to drop I guess.
I definitely would have started Sullivan over Sinkinson. I’d like more experience in a game like this and thought Sinkinson still has a bit to learn on defence at this level.
-
@Canes4life I thought the same thing watching Sinkinson, he seemed a bit lost at times. Fingers crossed he has a good one.

Debreczeni over Noah is interesting.
From a Ponies perspective, a very good move. Deb can play both deep and flat whereas Noah doesn’t vary it. Deb has a good boot too

Defensively he's better too.

I'm not sure how accurate this site is but it seems to have a pretty updated list of players and their height / weight - https://all.rugby/club/hurricanes/squad
James Blackwell is listed as 1.90m, but he weighs in at 114kg
Caleb Delany is listed at 1.95m and weighs 115kg
Justin Sangster is listed at 1.98m and weighs 115kg
Isaia Walker-Leawere is listed at 1.97m and weighs 122kg -
And Birds 2.06 and 126. And they are all fit to start.

@Winger we should really be starting IWL and Bird for this one. I highly rate Delany but I’m really worried that having two smaller locks is going to make it almost impossible to stop their rolling maul.
And win lineouts. Delany was VG last week. Like Blackwell high work rate last full game etc but better ball skills and taller.

@Crucial it's not hard to predict what the Brumbies are going to bring. They are going to use JD to play for territory and then they are going to try and put us under pressure defensively in our own half.
The main thing we can't do is go into our shells. We have to hold onto possession and slowly chip away at the Brumbies line. The Hurricanes are the best attacking team in the comp so cracks will appear eventually, we just have to be PATIENT, along with employing a smarter kicking game than we have in previous weeks and obviously nullifying their strengths in the red zone.
This game could go either way which is exciting, I just hope our season doesn't end in Canberra for the third year running.
I'm picking the Canes to edge it by 6 points because our bench looks a lot stronger than theirs.
