    I'd love a better update on Love's injury - such a shame he hasn't been able to get on the field given how well he played last year.

    Do we know how far away Sullivan and Proctor are?

    I have no idea why Jules is still starting. Can we have Naholo please?

    Pretty good side from both teams, I'm so glad we aren't playing this in Canberra.

    I was hoping a few more players would be back from injury after the bye but it doesn't seem to be the case.

    Julian Savea still gets picked because CJ is one of the coaches. CJ is never going to drop his boy even though he's completely ineffective. If I was the Brumbies I'd be running Toole at the Bus all day long.

    He's nearly back from injury. Looks to be taking part in most of the sessions which is good to see.

    not a bad theory, CJ is defense coach.

    perhaps they think Naholo's defense/work-rate off the ball needs improvement?

    I doubt Delany will even make the 23 when he comes back.

    I would have selected Dominic Bird instead of Blackwell in order to counter the Brumbies mauls. He may lack speed but he is very good in the tight. I like Delany a lot but he is too small for a lock IMO. I guess the Canes will end this game with him and Blackwell in the second row, not a frightening sight for the very tall Brumbies locks.

    @cgrant

    Agree regarding Bird. Or at least have Bird in the reserves. The Canes have been outmuscled by the top teams and lost a number of lineouts last week after Bird was replaced.

    As for Delany. I would have him in the reserves but covering 6. So if they must start Blackwell have Bird and Delany to bring on. Savea can cover 7 and Flanders 8.

    I hope the Canes coaches have been studying “Effective Use of the Bench 101”
    There are some big drops in quality there.
    Really don’t know who to pick in this. I feel like the Brumbies will have this game targeted in their season plans.

    May of hit it on head, he looks a little lost at times, as does Rayasi, and maybe considered risky having 2 of them on field ?

    I wondering if a lot of it to do with scrumming as well, looking back I can't really remember IWL and Bird being on at same time, and perhaps Delaney can scrum on LH or TH side of scrum more comfortably?

    @Dan54 Rayasi and Naholo score tries though, and I'd argue Jules still is susceptible to the dropsies as much as they are.

    Maybe it's a bit higher risk, but much more upside for me.

    Well apparently it's looking like Julian's last year as a Hurricane, he's keen to travel and experience another overseas team.

    Moorby has struggled a bit this year. Not unusual after a break through season. He must be getting close to drifting out of the top xv

    I liked him better on the wing tbh, he's got a strong running game but I feel his kicking sometimes lets him down.

    We are really missing Ruben Love at 15 IMO. A big reason the Canes fell off against the Chiefs two weeks ago was their inability to win the territory battle in that second half. Morgan's boot isn't big enough so we really need a fullback that is able to return fire effectively, atm Moorby doesn't have that ability.

    Godfrey is the other really good option coming through but he's still so young and is probably considered more of a 10 long term.

    @Canes4life

    I just hope they don’t move JB. There’s a lot of midfielders but not many fit fullbacks

    I agree a healthy Love would help a lot

    Proctor and Sullivan are on the injured list as well.
