I am incredibly disappointed with my actions. I endeavour to play the game I love in a way that reflects the kind of toughness and decency I think rugby can teach us. </span></span><br><span style="font-size:14px;"><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">On Saturday night I did not live up to those standards, placing Michael Leitch in danger by binding on his neck in a maul. It was not my intention to hurt Michael, but in these sorts of circumstances it is not intention that matters. I am grateful that World Rugby and SANZAAR are concerned about making the game safer for all of us. </span></span><br><span style="font-size:14px;"><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">I would like to take this opportunity to apologise again to Michael. And to apologise to the Chiefs, Brumbies and all those who follow rugby. I don't belong to the Pocock haters on this forum and I do believe that his apology is genuine.<br>

I agree that there is little consistency in the judicial decisions and think that, especially in the case of intentional offending (punching someone in the face, dropping a knee on someone's head), punishments are low. I don't think Pocock's offending was "intentional", but it looked "reckless" for an experienced player. Considering the other punishments that have been handed out this season, I think a 3 week/2 SR games ban is okay(ish).</p> -

<p>Get rid of the lawyers and the ex judges that make up these disciplinary panels, they are the ones that are Fcuking it up.</p>

<p>I've got no problem with a player's disciplinary record being taken into account as a possible mitigating factor. But I have a huge problem with the character and remorse aspects. They are both totally subjective, and firstly, what a player does off the field should have no bearing on an on-field action. Secondly, any wankpuffin can show remorse after the fact, especially when it is something that a sentence is partially judged on. Holy fuck, we see the worst scum do it in the courts on a daily basis.</p>

<p>Why not make his apology to the victims directly. If he wants to tell his 'fans' he has done that then fair enough but apologising through social media is only for his own emotional appeasement. </p>
