If we could channel a mix of ABs 2015 and 2011 vintage wed be ok...
I'd be really worried about facing these two teams with an AB 2021 vintage, but the last 3-4 AB games have me thinking we can beat these two teams.
Maybe not on consecutive WE's and we still have some fragility, but so do the teams today - esp. France.

Really think the ABs have missed a trick not developing Akira Ioane at 6. His raw power would trouble both these teams.
TBF, he's had the chances in the last 18 months and is still in the mix. He hasn't been thrown on the scrapheap a la Hansen.

He has done his best in a 2015 team pattern.......

That went well.

That first Irish try was a nice piece of analysis and execution. France hopelessly exposed on the fringes of the ruck.
France will want to improve considerably to win at home in a few months.
It's unfathomable how someone with as much experience as Barnes can be so poor and inconsistent.

What are peoples thoughts on players going for low percentage push overs leading to a goal line drop out. I guess the hard thing is knowing if it is low percentage at the time and to their credit Ireland did score from in close but how many times where they held up? Sometimes I'm yelling don't go for the try too many bodies, but I guess its just part of the game now.

TSF this Super season is gonna have a field day at 6.
Nearly as many contenders as the Melbourne Cup
In no order Akira/Ethan B/Frizell/MMT/Flanders/Jacobson/Finau/Lio-Willie/Suafoa/Rush etc etc

@sparky if he stays fit Blackadder will bolt into the 6 jersey. All the power but 3 times the work rate.
Exhibit A haha.

France went to pieces under pressure. 1st half was even, second half was even worse.
After Italy last week, have to wonder if France is as good as
wethey think they are.?

Based on this I can't see how France wins the World Cup. They look like us, speed on the game but with no apparent purpose. Guys getting the ball in bad positions. Poor kicking. Bailed out by some nice heads up individual play.
Ireland on the other hand, when their attack falls in a hole, they fall back on good defence and good kicking. They are also fit. That's good tournament footy.
Ireland are kissed on the dick by the whistle too. They don't spend a lot of time on their feet at the ruck. Doris was huge and deserved MotM, and I loved how he pushed barnes at every opportunity.
Ireland short favs I think.

Agree basically.
Ireland clear No.1 team at the moment, but they aren't so clearly dominant like England '03, ABs '11, '15 (and some other years I forget).
Think a number of teams line up against each other with close to 50/50 chances.

Found the 2nd half boring by the way. This is rugby's issue. Game went to pieces and the best plays for like 25 minutes were kicks.
Purists probably loved it. Fans of both sides liked the game in the balance. As a neutral there was little to get excited about as both teams played trench warfare.
Ireland didn't care, they were in front, and played professionally. France were just a bit shit. Entertain me FFS.

@mariner4life on the flip side the first half (and early second half) was brilliant to watch

First half was bloody good. Each team forced in to errors that the other side made use of, a couple of great tries, really good stuff.
