All Blacks 2023

I think that 11-12 players are already inked in for the starting XV. 6, 11, 14 and 15 will be the positions that may be yet to be decided. And the choice of fullback will determine who plays on the right wing.
To me, it will be about getting the selection of the 23 right.

Clarke didn't look like an AB wing tonight. Poor defence too.
He's looked like an AB wing for just a few minutes against Oz, sadly he's never kicked on from that
He has been dining out on one lomu esque run against Australia during the pandemic for a while now. I like my Allblack wingers and fullback to score at least a try every 1.5 tests.
I think he has his uses and he certainly has the physique to punch holes and knock out the likes of Faf de Klerk but I’d expect him to have at least 8/9 tries in his 15 tests to date.
He has 4……..

Category A tickets in Dunedin put me back $185 each. So certainly a sting in the pocket

Premium Tickets for the MCG Bledisloe Test are $349!

I'll take my 185 then and the MCG is bloody huge!

And they wonder why Oz rugby ain't going to great at the moment. Still, I guess they need to pay for Suali'i somehow.

To be fair, after the Premium and the Cat A seats, which are $249, the rest are $109 and under. Which is there or there abouts, but the high-end seats seem to have really jumped up the past few years following covid.

I'll be pretty amazed if Mo'unga isn't locked in at first five.
Dunno about locked-in but I think he's Foster's 1st choice. I can see DMac challenging him though (nice place for the AB's to be in) and maybe replacing BB in the 23.

@Unite i admit a mate and i were chatting yesterday and have decided to just watch at the pub, Marvel last year was a better viewing experience than i thought it might be but the MCG is huge and will probably enjoy more on TV as wont be anywhere near the action

That seems like a lot of money to watch ants running around a paddock.

Yep I got $109 tickets on the corner - should be good.
Factor in all the MCC Members (100k+) and it should be a huge crowd.
-
@KiwiMurph think lots of MCC members will go?
i definitely could be wrong but considering Marvel last year didn't sell out (cant remember if it was reported as a sell out but they were giving tickets away the week before and there were big holes around the place) and that only has a 53k capacity...and ive met a few people like myself weighing up the cost v view etc.....

Should close calls go against players that are leaving? We have a coach who knows his tenure is over so maybe it applies less this year?
With Shannon, Weber (definitely) and LF (strongly rumoured) leaving should they make the squad if it's a close call?
Mo'unga certainly makes the squad but lets says its a close call with McKenzie to start. Should it count against Mo'unga?
I think close calls should go to the players committed to NZ rugby. That obviously doesn't apply to people like Whitelock etc because there's no question he's in the top xv
-
Of course you should reward players committed to the future in NZ, especially if it's players like LF who are on the edge of the squad anyway. So for close calls it should always be tilted to the players staying, it's been like that since Hanson took over.
