The most important position in a Rugby team is Tighthead Prop. The second most important position in a Rugby team is backup Tighthead Prop. Losing Tyrell Lomax for a World Cup knockout would be a massive blow for the All Blacks.
Foster calls BS. Winger and reserve winger are the two most important positions

@Machpants in the modern game, hooker is probably key to ensure he hits his targets

well we already new Marshall was a dick
He's probably still pissed that Sky didn't want to pay for his French holiday.

Really? For him, Cane, BB, Ardie, Codie T, well, some order like that...

@chchfanatic I know you’ve always been 💯 accurate with your oil , if a directive has come via NZ Rugby you can guarantee Foster is pulling strings in the background .
I find it interesting that Fozzie would have that much power but not be reselected for the position.
Is it possible that the NZRU thinks it might actually be better for Robertson to stay away from a role he isn't participating in?
-
Thanks for the explanation!

Well the last few pages of this thread was a few minutes I’ll never get back.

After a poor performance in game one of the World Cup, Foster has pulled it around a bit with three good performances against weaker opposition in the next three games. I am pleased that the All Blacks have been spared the humiliation of not making the World Cup knockout and their earliest ever World Cup exit.
I’m looking forward to the Quarter Final. Go Black!

Not confident at all - we are still as flaky as fuck under pressure. That said, if the forwards front up and Ryan gets his tactics right as he did in the RC and the forwards focus, we'll be OK.
Oh, and BB doesn't kick like shit.

@Victor-Meldrew This will be a tough tournament to win, but if BBBR can unleash his full-on beast mode, then Ireland are in for a scare. On his day he’s still the best player in the world.
I don’t fear England, Wales, Argentina, Fiji or whoever in the Semi.
Then you’re in World Cup final and I’ll always fancy the chances of 23 men with silver ferns next to their hearts in that situation.
It’s that hope that kills ya.

It's been 4 years since he's been the best luck in the world I fear. Love BBBR, but I really hope you're right

@nzzp keeping all 15 on the park v quality opposition is quite a big thing for us too.
I do agree with above though, if we do manage to beat Ireland I reckon we make the final, and that is a one off, no matter who.

I'm probably more nervous about this game than the 2011 Final. Just hope the new sofa doesn't get the same teeth marks.

@Victor-Meldrew I have a family thing next Saturday, and one of my cousins partner is Irish...he told me to wear something green...which I may do especially if we win.

I have an Irish-supporting acquaintance who's an utter, loudmouth prick. I'm preparing a meme around Green apples, Sexton and "How'd you like them apples" in case we win...

Logic says we have no chance against this Irish side, knowledge is that we have Fozzy who has been cooking up a masterplan, which involves bringing in Aaron Cruden for the injured Dave Havili, so launch PTSD from that all-time choke in Dublin.
Bring it on!

He's not even our best lock.
Next week is about territory and defensive accuracy. If we can slow them down and get scoreboard pressure, we can win.
Sadly, I don't trust Barrett/Mo'unga to do that with the boot, even if the forwards lay the platform, so in reality we will win by scoring tries.
We need an opening 20 like we had against Sth Africa early in the year.
