which trophies did the ABs not win?

Funnily enough the ABs have won or retained all trophies they play for under Foz! Actually up to this satge is most successful AB coach at that since turn of the century!

    It is pretty funny.
I suppose we can ignore the home loss to Argentina and home series loss to Ireland because no "trophies" were up for grabs.

Mate not excusing or otherwise, just thought it funny. Aren't trophy's what count? Hell do we notice that Crusaders lost to Drua or that they won Super title? Do we remember that Abs beat Boks in WC pool match, or that Boks won WC??
I not saying anything in defence of Foster, just it funny what slips by us.

No. We remember that we had never lost to Ireland. That we had never lost to Argentina. That we had never lost at home to Ireland. That we had never lost a home series to Ireland.
    We forget TRC number 17.
Also we lost the Qatar airways cup or whatever that imaginary trophy was for getting our worst ever beating the other day.

@george33 is it the same source that said Roigard was 100% leaving the Canes? If so, it won't be Ioane.

Why would Fozzie include Blackadder and Havili in all those sessions when they were injured and then go and select Ioane. Makes no sense at all. Mind you it is Fozzie.

It will either be Blackadder or Stevenson.

You're right, but I actually think it will be Blackadder or Blackadder (maybe Lord if they still worried about Brodie).
And I meant Blackadder or Blackadder.

My impression of Blackadder is that he was busy but fairly inaccurate, and so not all that effective at test level. I feel he'd be better to slow down a bit and improve his accuracy. That'd make him more effective and hopefully less injury prone as well. So, nowhere near the finished product and the only reason he hasn't been given more time is he's always injured.

Akira would make sense to me, especially if they feel Finau isn't quite ready for test footy. The options are bare and Akira has at least actually put in MOTM performances in black before.

Considering how wide he played in Super rugby I am assuming Fozzie would be bringing Akira in as an outside back replacement 😉

Plot twist - Stevenson selected as a loose forward.

Good article from Tawera Kerr-Barlow (what NZ would do to have him available for selection right now against France)

Take a punt use LF at least he can bend the line,No kicking game but ALB hasn't either and can not bend the line either.

Havilli has a kicking game but will not break the line either.
For me stick a big fucker back in there to smash over the advantage line so our forwards have a chance to play off the from foot.
We need to get right up the French and physically smash them.

LF at 12? Did he play at 12 for the Crusaders? I just assume he was played at 13.

@Dan54 literally all you offer as an argument is an appeal to authority. It's a well known logical fallacy. It's a bit odd for someone who follows rugby as much as you do.

Seven one bench with Akira covering all the backs?

What would make me laugh. Foster announces blackadder joining squad. « We feel Todd is a lock who can cover 6 »

@No-Quarter I’m sorry, but anyone who would select Akira over Blackadder would have a good argument for being committed.

I had thought of that, but didn't bother because noone else ever won it, or will win it again as it a oncer. The only trophies as such are Freedom cup, Bled, Tri Nations (even that doesn't count as a one of) and rugby championship.
Mate it was a lighthearted thing anyway, just saying how looking back in history his record will look alright.

Luatua wasn't wanted for some ungodly reason

I know why they wanted Fifita, incredibly gifted, but they couldn't get the balance right. Akira very similar. PGS should never have been picked.

I am very interested in what the side looks like next year.

Not sure if it occurs straight away, but by the next World Cup, I expect to see Gardiner and Haig dueling for the six jersey, Lakai, Papalii, Ardie, Suafoa, Grace, Withy, Flanders, Lio-Willie, Broughton, Sititi are the others I think will be in that loose forward picture... excuse me if I have forgotten someone.

Stodart, Delaney, TK Howden, Hicks, Segner ...

Maybe we should just add all loosies running around in NPC, SR U20 and 1st XV rugby for completeness?

Yeah, I mean as a one-eyed Otago fan, I thought Stodart had an outstanding debut. But that was 70 minutes vs a rotated version of the 10th best team in the competition. Segner perhaps could kick on too, but I've seen nothing out of Delaney, Hicks and Howden that says All Black.

It's the bolded bit that everyone is taking issue with.

Even if we were to win this RWC, history will not forget that we had never lost to Ireland. That we had never lost to Argentina. That we had never lost at home to Ireland. That we had never lost a home series to Ireland.

    (c) @reprobate , I couldn't be bothered retyping so just pasted your words 😎
