Good night at suncorp despite the result
Heaps of warriors fans. Crowd was fucking loud. We were up and about when we scored 2 early but Brisbane were far too good. Offloads killed us as it brought their speed in to it.
Now go and beat Penrith you prices
Awesome and unexpected season warriors

@ACT-Crusader 4th best. We lost to Melbourne and they finished above us

Our losing margin in the prelim was less than theirs. I’m sticking with 3rd best and that’s what I tell all my Storm supporting mates 😎

Have to give a shit tonne of credit to Kevin Walters here. Took over a shambles and has completely turned things around. Respect to that man.
-
@Rancid-Schnitzel yep. I couldn’t stand him or his brothers when they played, but he’s done a magic job with this team.
I can’t say I’m excited to watch Broncos in another grand final, but if they can knock over Penrith it would be something.

yes and no, I tend to think anyone who follows Sielbold will look good and Manly will also find this out, but some credit needs to go his way for sure

SJ dips out on the Dally M as AFB and Dallin take too many votes off him, and Ponga comes home with a wet sail to win it. Shitty for days for SJ no matter what he will say publicly.
Warriors end up with 3 in the team of the season, and the coach. Broncos heavily represented, and it's sort of a testament to how good Penrith are that they are wildly under-represented. They have too many good players who all operate at a high level each week, meaning no one stands out.

Nice recognition for Webster and a job well done. Shame for SJ, but three players in the team of the season is great

To be fair half of the Penrith team were nominated in respective positions, but a bit like the SJ scenario, they shared the points around, so no one blitzed it. From memory Edwards, Too, Cleary, Tago, Crichton, JFH, Martin, Yeo all in final team selection and Turuva even picked up rookie
Feel for SJ at least he can claim halfback of the year
-
@bayimports yeah that's basically my point. If they had an all-NRL 2nd team it would be jammed with Panthers. All their middles. Their wingers. It would be Cleary v Reynolds and Edwards v Walsh for half the spine.
-
Dylan Edwards had a massive year and unlucky not to make it even with that stretch of games Ponga had. One of the hardest working guys for the Panthers not just running the ball but taking the pressure off Cleary.

he's so fucking good. Fullback is a crowded field though, with Ponga and Walsh standouts as well, and a haul of guys just below those 3.
I wouldn't mind seeing how Penrith go in a big game without Edwards, i have sneaky suspicion he's the guy that makes it all work (he and Yeo). Cleary and his kicking game are the other big reason.
Actually fuck it, it's all of them. The metres and quick play the balls from their back 5. The defensive pressure of their prop rotation. Cleary's kicking game. Edwards' non-stop running.
Brisbane are going to have to play to the absolute best of their ability to win on Sunday. Penrith are so fucking good.
