    @stodders

    I’m definitely not writing us off. If we can get into the semi finals then anything can happen. I just lament the fact we’re turning into the Wallabies, Boks and co being very ordinary in between RWC’s
    with the promise that we could win it no matter poor we were in between. IMO that’s a fools gold and not the heritage of NZ rugby.

    @canefan Now?
    Pack down a scrum, waste 5 minutes, keep England in their 22 and win the match, or take a stupid DG. Mistake by BB.

    That's what I actually thought we were going to do, some sensible stuff. Then I saw BB set for the DG.....

    @mencey forwards improved backs still scatterbrained.
    Our 10s should be better.

    Thing that annoyed me most was that up to the 70th minute I was content in knowing we were going to show Twickenham what happens when you disrespect the haka

    Tell that to Campese!

    Seriously though, I have heard of several ways in which it is respectful to address the Haka and it keeps changing. Is there a definitive response? Is it indeed necessary for this to be "respected" or are some Kiwis just a bit too precious about it?

    Do what you like, it's your stadium. I thought it sounded cool having the english crowd singing. Only response I wouldn't like is booing, that would be a bit much.

    Yeah I’m the same , don’t see why other countries are supposed to put the haka on a pedestal and just sit there and shut up . I have no problem with them doing their own form of song that gives them a feeling of patriotism while it’s happening like the haka does for us , all adds to the us against them vibe for me

    The game sort of sums up this team really, patches of playing well and good build up splendidly undone being utterly incompetent.

    It's quite baffling how a team can be so inconsistent week to week and even within a game itself.

    Yes there's the normal ebb and flow of dominance within a game but then there's just losing your head when the pressure gets put on (the exception being the last gasp win against Aussie to be fair). But more often than not it's the latter.

    Supporting the AB's this year has really been like trying to date someone who's bi-polar.

    I didn't even get that angry, it was completely unsurprising.

    Pretty bizarre that to beat the All Blacks all you have to is sling it wide, multiple teams this year have made easy metres just attacking that way. Surely we need a new defence coach.

    It was a fitting end to a disappointing season, prob the worst I can remember for a long time. A 6-4-1 record is abysmal for the AB’s considering we’re up at around 80% in the professional era.

    ??? I thought All Blacks won 8 matches this year? Which are you not counting?

    Jesus the criticism of the DG is a bit over the top, that got us a 19 point lead with 10 minutes to go. That is 100% NOT the reason we lost, it has absolutely nothing to do with it.

    England probably only started moving the ball wide because we were a man down , I wonder if they are thinking, why didn’t we try that earlier ?

    Yeah - when we're 16 points up with 10 to play I don't want our senior players wetting their pants about a three-try comeback. That should have been another un-needed nail in the coffin and we should be talking about how good it is that BB took the opportunity to get in some dropgoal practice in a big game.

    Maybe it will yet serve us in good stead next year. 🙂

    Beauden is accumulating those yellow cards. He's got Read in his sights. 🙂

    Beauden Barrett’s yellow card was the fourth of his test career (against Australia in Sydney in 2014, against Argentina in New Plymouth in 2017 and against South Africa in Johannesburg this year being the others).

    That now has him equal with current captain Sam Whitelock, with the duo one short of former skipper Kieran Read, whose five trips to the sin bin are the most by any All Black in test matches.

    To be fair to BB he probably didn’t have a crystal ball telling him he would be sent off in the next minute. 25-6 should have been a winning margin for a good team

    I'd love to see Stevenson in the mix but IMO he would be competing for the 14 spot with Jordan, Telea and Reece potentially as 15 cover. Lam is a maybe, not sure he has the same impact as Clarke though as a power winger.

    Foster (rightly IMO) clearly wants to play a power winger/finesse winger combination with his 14 also an extra FB with kicking etc. Leads me to believe Jordan will be the first choice 14 when fit. Telea has been the find of the northern tour.

    My bad, just checked and it's 8-1-4. Marginally better but still a disappointing season.

    Why for the love of god would you attempt a dinky little kick in behind the English defence, just outside our 22, when we've only got three fucking defenders covering more than half the pitch?
    PXL_20221119_225005653~2.jpg

    Apparently Ardie called TJ to kick it there , and then stuffed up the chase , got himself in front and had to back off

    The Canes fucked us. Typical. 😉
