France vs Springboks

In my view, the turning point was Faf de Klerk being replaced. He was marshaling his forwards brilliantly until then. His box kicks put a lot of pressure on the French team. Cobus Reinach was not as influential when he came in. From now on, the Springboks started to fade.

Looking at PSDT red a big contributor was Kwagga giving him and De Allende a shove. I suspect PDST (and DA) were pushed off balance and fell forward.
Barnes has previous given yellows for same (to the pusher in lieu of the pushee).
Not so sure. Looking at the replay, for me the push, such as it was, had little impact. PSDT was already on his way at a rate of knots.
Red all the way.

And he gave himself an extra propulsion just before impact

If you lose your balance and try regain it it is common to lurch forward almost involuntarily.
I just don’t think the outcome of nutting Danty in face was his intention.
Definitely a card.

There's your problem right there. PSDT didn't even know what environment he was in!

Definitely a card.Looked intentional to me, and there's no need for it. No need to get his Danties in a twist.

Not to me. Having now rewatched a few times it seems to me the big issue was De Allende and PSDT steaming in in parallel. Danty lurches left to avoid DA which puts his head in line with PDST's head.
I hope World Rugby thinks about amending the Laws in respect of such parallel/double cleans, because they are an accident waiting to happen (again).

ok I saw another angle, not so clear. But someone had to be sent off.

Well, only he knows that for sure
However I'd be surprised if it was intentational rather than just reckless as he doesn't seem to be that type of guy from what I've seen

He did seem to have a surprised expression on his face in a second video angle.

Not as surprised as the Frenchman!

Out of the frying pan into the flier. Edit: flyer?

@Catogrande I don't think any ofnthese red cards we see are intentional, some are worse than others in terms of stupidity/dangerous/accidental, but not intentional.
-
I agree that intentionality is rare. In the case of a clear out like PSDT, I can see the intention to stick a shoulder into the ribs, say, rather than a nut to the face, but if you ride that line you’re putting guys in danger and yourself in the frame.
