Kirifi really is a dick
biggest dickhead in NZ Rugby
Well done Wellington, played bloody well.
Don't know what Kirifi has done, apart from play well, he surely captains the team well.
Look, I'm also from the 'Naki... and understand the instinct for a bit of provincial patriotism.
The guy's a grub.
Constant after-the-ball stuff. Shoving, mouthing off, just... being a dick.
“Oh... you want the game to be tiddly-winks!”
No. I want to be able to have a beer with my opponent after the match.Well the I haven't heard of any opposition not wanting to have a beer with him, same as Colesy, man I want some agression on field! And listen to him speak after the game just now, class!

@Dan54 was probably the best he has played tonight for some time.
Not sure I'd rate him as a captain either, but he is surrounded by some quality players in form right now too.
Wellington playing some great running rugby too, which is good to see, especially some of the young uns they got
Probably one of pickerills better games too, but still unsure how he managed to get it if based on rankings of refs.

No. I want to be able to have a beer with my opponent after the match.Hes not so bad. Leader of an impressive forward display
Blackwell and Bird both were impressive. I've slagged Blackwell off at times for the Canes but he stepped up week after week for mostly the full game
Wellington were lucky (esp compared to the Canes and Wellington in recent years) that they had very few injuries. I thought our luck might have run out with Cowan out but both TH props did very well. And Numia once again luckily lasted for the full match as our replacement LH is poor
Lakai at 19 is surely a future AB. Delany is my biggest improver. Numia was a close 2nd. And Kirifi rounded out a great forwrad display. To do what I thought wouldn't happen. Even after Auckland I still had my doubts
Final point. Aumua lineout throwing was first rate in this game. We finally did it.

@taniwharugby I think he has been good all season really. I was standing behind the Wellington bench in their preseason against the Naki, and was listening to him talking to players, and just sounded so impressive. We will agree to disagree, I think he a good captain. And he's grounded, heard after one game when the commentator came up and said well commiserations mate, his reply?
Why. noone has died, we only lost, it's still just a game we love playing, but a game! -
Just listening to Leo Crowley getting interviewed and sounds like he thinking of coming back to the farm. Well if he does Kaponga (where his farm is and he grew up) needs a coach for 2nd div comp next year, and as Leo actually gave the boys a run this year, he might just be the man for the job!
And Wellington had 2 Naki boys coaching this year with Fish Tito doing forwards, think his brother is actually coaching Southern club next year ! -
Crowley said he was disappointed that more didn't make the AB 15. The one name he mentioned was Billy Proctor. Not say Kirifi or Numia. Another coach who seems to really rate Proctor. I've been a lot more impressed with him this NPC. Still young though

He’s a rock on defence. He did a lot of tackling tonight. Higgins and Proctor could be a fantastic pairing going forward. They seem to compliment each other nicely.
On Riley Higgins, he looks so composed at such a young age. I’d already have him above PUJ, he’s got the skills plus the size to get over the advantage line. Seems to be made for the big matches aswell.
Will be interesting to see what the Canes do there with Barrett coming into 12for the ABs. Higgins might have to spend some time on the bench.
As much as I supported PUJ since he left school I feel like he should make a career shift to the Highlanders. Wouldn’t begrudge him for leaving at all.

Numia needs to convert to hooker
No he doesn’t, he was the best prop on the park.
He made a mockery of that Brewis selection in the AB XV.Aumua was a beast aswell, and his line-out throwing was exceptional. (For once)

Pretty good idea. When one UJ is in the injury ward the other one can cover. UJ rotation, maybe that's how they've been misused in the past.

Haha I like that thinking. Means they will never be on the field at the same time.

I'm thinking about higher honours. He's a fantastic player but doesn't have a chance in hell of surviving at prop at international level. If he could learn to throw, we'd have 3 blockbusting hookers for the ABs for the next tenish years.
