Maybe Clarke should make way for Reece.
Clarke has been weak on defence and has made a few mistakes.Reece has a much higher work rate than Clarke who makes a couple of Runs in a game and not much else as far as work rate..I think Clarke's power is a nice point of difference that we didn't have last year. With finally getting consistent footy he's showing improvement week on week.

@Bones but hes obviously not or at least not as comfortable as reece....
you seem to not want WJ on the wing...but also not want him anywhere else?
Or he's just not as good!
Nah, not really interested in him elsewhere unless required, if he can't perform on the wing. No idea what's going on with him, but he looks disinterested a lot of the time - that will be shown up tenfold at fullback.
agreed, maybe he's not, but there has been plenty to suggest he might be a pretty good...so was just suggesting making sure before casting him aside
I disagree that wing is any easier than fullback where if your not good at one you cant be good at the other, theyre just different positions, we have already seen jordie look average at 14 but much more comfortable at 15

Shaky hand there ? you put the line through through the wrong player.

Says the hooker to the contrary - we've already seen Jordan look comfortable on the wing. Maybe he needs a de Groot style kick up the arse?

Clarke and Jordan are going to absolutely smoke it this weekend.
I don’t care what they choose to do after their Thursday night rugby game as long as it’s 1-0 to the good guys in the Bledisloe
it's a long weekend ok!

Let's just hope his boots have longer sprigs this time.

@Bones i dont actually disagree with anything you're saying...i just dont know why anyone would be SO against just seeing him in what i thought was generally accepted as his best position
Because he's been lackadaisical and uncommitted and that would be exposed brutally at fullback against a side who see this as probably their best chance in 20 years to get a hand on the bledisloe and perhaps even a win at EP.
I don't know why anyone would be SO for taking such a risk.
You can't hide a shit fullback at fullback.

I saw an interview with Fozzie a little while back , maybe a month ago , and he was questioned on Jordan at FB ,
And he said we are trying to get them to play sort of dual fullback roles regardless of their numbers , we like what Jordie Brings with his more defensive aspects , high ball , kicking game etc and we are trying to get Will involved in a roving role injecting himself into the play on attack .
Doesnt seem to be working

going to have to just leave this one then, i dont think hes a shit fullback so we're starting from very different places

He's pretty good at super rugby.
So is Codie Taylor.

Looking forward to seeing Hoskins launch a 40m pass off his left for a try. Hope he goes well.
ill be more impressed if his defence and ball carrying is up to the required levels
-
@kiwiinmelb we've run the dual fullback thing for many years now, could argue since Cully/Goldie.
But was probably Dagg/Jane that perfected it and upped the all round skills.

This doesn't get much better for the All Blacks IF and it's a big IF we can actually string two good performances together.
Pack rejigged and no Tupou, backline even more rejigged with a new First Five, inexperienced centre pairing, Nick White on the bench. This is a walk-up if ever there was a walk-up.
We win this, takes the pressure off at Eden Park and allows us to play more of the squad players.

Hmmm. I see the akira is awesome posts again. Bloody well show us please akira with a dominant display off the bench rather than an ok-ish one.
TBF there’s only one poster dying on that hill.
He’s a good player no doubt but the fact is that it’s not just Foster but Ryan as well that can see that he doesn’t match the desire for a straight running charger. They want someone that tackles with their shoulder more than their arms and drives with their legs in contact rather than trying to step.
No, just one that can be bothered arguing with the usual suspects about it.
Everything you wrote up there describes Akira's game. FFS.
We must have our players mixed up then 😀
No, just that you are pretty wrong (as usual) about how he plays.
OK thanks. I'll let Jase Ryan know as well.
The selectors have been really clear about the style and attributes they want from their 6 and by their actions they agree with me. You seem to be the only one that sees Akira differently.
As I have said numerous times, he is a good player. Just plays differently to what they want.
