ST, S Barrett and BB. Hard to pick the third.

    BB

    Why?

Good defence, cleaned up a lot of the mess his forward pack delivered to him. Ran straight and showed his brilliance trying to tidy up from behind his line and almost setup a try.

Like I said, a hard pick for third. Him or Clarke.

@Kirwan he's one of the most experienced players and is frequently a sticking point on releasing any attack. He's playing like a poor man's Stephen Donald.

Problem is the tight five, Smith is predictable. BB is playing as well as he can with the ball (when we have it) that he gets.

This is the most passive AB side I can remember.

I thought our defence was enthusiastic. But with ball in hand I was reminded of bad Hurricanes teams. Taking the ball flat footed, just shovelling it on, seemingly unable to get meaningful go forward. Telling that the two breaks we made were from in passes, the only two moments of variation

He's not. I've lost count of the number of times he's held the ball and taken a tackle when all it needed was a quick flick on. It's frustrating as fuck. I expect a lot more from him than one awkward break per game. I don't think I'm expecting too much.

The saffas were rushing up so fast. Very hard to spin the ball out when they were already up on our line. Our lack of go forward caused that

They've always done that. It's nothing new. We're talking about a 2 time nominee for world player of the year here right? The guy that's supposed to lead the team around the park and put it all into place. He can't even do the bread and butter at the moment.

Our game is still trapped in 2019. We failed to realise how we were beaten then, the ABs and by extension SR teams have not evolved enough

not only that, but not playing SA means we dno't routinely cope with different styles. We see same NZ style, and a bit of Aus, but no real rush defence, bash them up front teams that expose weaknesses.

Dude it's still basically the same as 2015

Agree wholeheartedly. That's also a vastly different conversation than proposing BB as a shining light.

I don't disagree he wasn't great. He's just one problem in a team full of problems. But our tactics are not helping

Didn’t see the game but may as well go for Ardie and Caleb Clarke. Open for suggestions on a third option.

Cane played with constant strength and application all game. Lineout was great so Scott Barrett and Whitelock also for me. Taukeiaho was great. Taavao was good. Christie added a lot off the bench as did Mounga. Our back 3 were pretty awful. Missing high balls and being bundled into touch or miskicking into touch. I wish Reece was there!

Sorry, late to the thread and missed the game. Did the ABs win ?
