Hatiest teams
-
- Springboks - ingrained into me that they are still "cheating, dirty, filth"

- The McGrath/Warne era Australian Cricket team - even though there are a couple of cricketers in there that I liked to watch play, I just couldn't stand them as a team.

- French rugby team - hate watching their negative style of playing.

- Reds - like M4L, hated them back in the 80s and even more so now.

- Chiefs - need I say more....
-
Fans more than particular teams.

Agree with that , some Irish fans during the " golden generation " years tended to be nauseating mitigated only their teams reamings at the hands of the abs after talking them up relentlessly . Aussie fans were pretty bad in the early 2000s but they were mostly twats who jumped on the bandwagon in 1998 and departed the scene in 2003 or so. -

I've heard quite a lot about the arrogance and hubris of the "Golden Generation" Irish fans but to be honest I've not witnessed it much. For sure they were in general a lot happier about their team and performances but IMO rarely went over the top. Now this may just be because I don't get out much and tend not to visit the more rabid rugby related sites, but I've never had a problem with our friends from over the water.

The ones from over the Severn - well that's totally different. :fishing:
-

I think for me it's been more the posters encountered here, or Irish fans encountered fleetingly in real life. The ones I know or share time with down the rugby club couldn't be better or more grounded.
-

It was on the more rabid sites, though the occasional jackass showed up here. The hubris was something to behold, as was the shrill reaction when the occasional sh troll would say something like "when I see Ireland slam the 6n it makes me wonder just how shit England and France are at the moment". I wonder that too but I wouldn't bother actually posting it just to get a reaction . The irish regulars here are nothing like those clowns though.
-

I agree with this, but I'm the first to admit it's due to my own experiences, which many others won't have experienced. That being an Irish Mafia in HK who were on the whole, a bunch of idiots, and the reaction from many of them after being knocked out in 2007.

Just about all Irish I've met since then though, have been bloody lovely. So I've had to rescind that view somewhat. They are still a mafia though.
-

Someone here had the misfortune to be seated with them at the 2007 q final and they apparently behaved like utter piston wristed gibbons even though the game didn't involve their team. A dribbling arseclown posted here last year and said we deserved it because of what happened to BOD, that was news to me and I guess everyone else here.
-

Sickening arrogance from Jones
Good to see him given credit for 2007 there too. -
"Sickening arrogance"? Bit much jeg

But i tend to think he's setting himself up to fail a bit.

Lancaster's England beat the All Blacks ... -
I found it a bit odd that all of the questions were about the All Blacks when their 3 match tour is against the Wallabies, who knocked England out of the RWC on their way to the final. Beating the Wallabies at home is going to be a fucking huge test for them.
-

well the ABs are Everest for England right now, and they aint got enough Sherpas :)

Twas a joke, he said "can we beat the all blacks? We can't now ,but we will". Not often you see a coach that honest, good on him.
-

Oh ok. Sorry dude.

Get it now.

Still think he's setting the bar high ... under promise over deliver and all that (going the other way can set expectation a little high) -

Au Contraire Blackadder, those scars from 03 run deep Singapore and Hong Kong were unpleasant colonial outposts to be in those days

Having a nasty little Aussie coach has provided us with an easy comeback if the days become dark and confused again...
