Landers v lions
-

Cruden is a bit of a forgotten man, prior to his injury he was on the verge I think of really staking his claim, he wont be discarded that quickly though

It's a tough one. I think probably just experience as you say, Cruden just millimetres ahead at working space, maybe slightly more elusive on the run. I wouldn't have any problem at all if Sopoaga got the ten Jersey, apart from it being tough on Cruden. -
Lima the best goalkicker , dont underestimate that

For me Cruden just ahead of Lima. Distance to everyone else. Beauden just doesn't have it to start he's bench or not at all.

Give Barrett time. He showed a lot more maturity in his last start. He just needs to start controlling / reading a game and responding accordingly. (And work on his goal kicking). He's 24 now and without Nonu and Smith this year will show whether he has what it takes or not. Hopefully he gets the right advice / coaching
-

Impressive the way the Highlanders have got so much out of "ordinary" or discarded players. True definition of a team culture

Dixon(s) Evans Pryor Edmonds Geldenhuys Ainley as examples

Blues spend 5 years wondering what's going wrong when the answer is staring them in the face <strike>2000 </strike> 1429 clicks away. Reduce all the media shit, stick with a first XV and adopt swannies as official game day apparel :)
-

Aucklanders in Swannies , not sure that would work

-
This Landers team is a bloody well coached outfit. A and B Smith are great leaders within the group as well. They've got a great set up going at the moment.

Yeah I'm reminded that Shag believes injuries don't equate to dropping...except for Dagg :)

Are we pretending Dagg wasn't shit for a full 2-3 years before he was dropped?
-

No way mate

Perhaps kinder to say his rivals simply left him behind
-
Four pages and no mention of Luke Whitelock other than the team sheet.... :)

He's looking surprisingly dynamic out there. Thought he played well tonight -

Nah, I can vaguely remember him being an attacking threat at one point but those times are long gone. These days I think of Dagg and think of the guy who receives the ball, does a dumb goose step and then gets tackled straight away, all while the commentators jizz their pants.
-

I think the younger Dagg with X factor in attack , was a much leaner lighter player ,

No stats to back it up , but I remember him playing for the highlanders built like a greyhound , he was quick then and could step ,

He looks a bigger heavier player now, and seems to have lost that agility he had,
-

He's certainly looked a lot more dynamic after moving down south.

Jamie Joseph obviously a better motivator than his last coach -

It's called age or is it marriage
-

Really like the way the Landers are varying their play currently,

Did their homework on the Lions from last week, with grubbers and kicks in behind the defence, and just good old fashioned D up front.

But its the gritty, and dogged attitude I'm loving the best.
-

Luke Whitelock played his best ever Rugby in last year's ITM Cup. As you'd expect, he is improving as a player as he gets older and gains experience.

by his "bet ever rugby" I assume you mean he played OK.

Joseph has definitely worked on the dynamic side of his game which has always been missing
-

Apparently Pryor may be out of the next match with concussion after getting Tecklenbergs shoulder in a dangerous clearout, Tecklenberg has been cited.
