Maybe I'm just mature enough to handle losses (nope that didn't sound right even as I typed it).
I know what you mean. From the other side.
I keep thinking that I should be mature enough to take losses like this (watching on TV), and 2019 SF (at the stadium). But I'm not. I fucking hate it. I'm an immature little shit who can't handle the All Blacks losing.
Fuck the world.Depends how they lose. I get pissed off when they lose and play like shit e.g yesterday.
Losing when they play well is way less painful - still not acceptable, mind
Only game I can think of like that was England over here, I think it was 2012? They outplayed us completely and through no fault of our own. Plus my loss insurance was our (English) blindside saying he'd get a silver fern tattoo if they (England) won.
OT, but thinking about it, the Ellis Park classic in '13 was the one game when I really didn't care who won after about 5 minutes into the second half. That game was just so damn special to watch.

@Nepia ha yeah I was sitting there last night thinking what a clusterfuck.
Didnt the ref say we had to send off a loose forward? DP was already off, we arent gonna send off our captain (as much as some would prefer) AS was the only one.
I do find that rule ridiculous, rugby is a contest, and the forward exchange pivotal to it, not to mention the safety aspect, yet they will happily allow a scrum to be underpowered by forcing the team to remove a forward if a prop is binned, rather than let them choose who to remove (ie a wing more than likely)
@taniwharugby Be thankful the ref didn't know the rules in that situation. If he had, you'd have had to remove two players to bring the prop on and be down to 12 men instead of 13.
A lot of talk about lack of a game plan and structure yesterday. But really it was atrocious discipline that cost you that game.
I think atrocious discipline is a symptom of a poorly coached team whose "gameplan" is being easily picked off by other teams.
Think you have a point as frustration creeps in when things aren't working - which we've seen since 2017. But a lot of it is also down to players taking responsivity themselves as well

Still say that's the best test I seen sice 2000 Victor, I was living in Aus at time and rcall going to bed after it and not being able to sleep, I was on such a high.

My biggest disappointment in this team is their inability to chance their arm when we have ball in hand. How many times have we gone a couple phases and then aimlessly kicked the ball away? It’s almost ingrained into this team atm, there is no innovation at all.
How about instead of running through the motions we actually chance our arm a little and use the talent at our disposal. The reason the likes of Ardie, Reiko, Jordan, Reece etc are in this side is for their ability to cut teams to shreds, yet we hardly ever spin it wide.
What planet are you on? We constantly spin it wide without going forward first. If this talent was so successful at running around the opposition, why wouldn't we do that all the time and rack up 50 points?
This. So this.
Earn the right to spin it. Going forwards or broken play with disjointed opposition.

Point being they aren't all conquering in Europe. Which puts us way down the totem pole if we lose again. What? Losing to the world number 2 team, who had previously lost to the world number 1 team, does not put you way down there totem pole. It puts you 3rd, or worse. In our case world ranking looks about right, 4th in the world due to the continual poor performances under foster the clown

@Machpants
Accepting being shit is the first step at staying shit. I won't shrug my shoulders because we lost to a team that lost to a team that is likely to win the RWC. If 4thwas overachieving then I'd celebrate it, but is not. It's underachieving with some very obvious causes. -
@Canes4life said in All Blacks v Ireland - 2nd Test:
@antipodean I’m not saying ‘just run it’ from anywhere, I’m saying we need to chance our arm more than we are now and actually back our players to exert dominance through a superior skillset, because fuck me we have the players to do it.
I get that kicking is a way of tactically getting through and over modern day defensive lines but when we get well over the advantage line (even from inside our own half) and we have the opposition back pedalling, surely it’s best to keep ball in hand, no?
Something that Mo’unga has in spades over Beauden is the ability to read when to kick vs when to run no matter where his team is on the park.
As an AB fan, I just think kicking is ingrained into our game atm and I feel like we aren’t always making the right decisisons when we have the opposition under the pump.
Look I agree that we kick poorly. Especially Barrett's open play kicking seems aimless or poorly directed. Made worse by what appears to be a very average chase.

So a loss to Ireland, who lost to France, didn't put us further down the totem pole, it confirms where we are. And where will stay until foster finally fucks off after the RWC, any coach would do better.

It should have been Dalton that wasn’t allowed back on because he was the one that went off to allow AT on
That doesn't sound right. Discard the yellow that DP came on for. Pretend it didn't happen. Ardie goes off for the red and isn't replaced. Isn't it that simple?
Yeah I don’t know. Just repeating what i read.
I guess maybe because the guy DP “swapped” with was AT not Ofa. AT gets red therefore can never “swap back”.Hopefully they clarify it because it is all pretty confusing.

Calls for HIA?
Or officials working out if Ardie can stay on...

Where is the mongrel gone?
Big carries like Kaino dragging two or three and pumping the legs.
McCaw in Hong Kong swatting away Aussies in a 40 meter barrel run.
All we have now is Retallick taking static ball and falling on the ground after making a yard.

The Irish defence is rather good
Or is our attack really bad?
Considering BB try was a fluke then yes.
Take away his flukey stuff and you take away his game.
Then again I don't remember him gifted an intercept before and not being able to run at least 20 metres with it.Was he carrying an injury?
-
@chimoaus said in All Blacks v Ireland - 2nd Test:
Ireland should have scored a lot more points given how they dominated us.
We need to learn how to exit properly, have an accurate kicking game, reduce errors. Pretty much a completely different gameplan to whatever you call the shit we put out tonight.
Spot on!

@antipodean It kind of went to shit when Wayne Smith and that AFL skill coach left.
As Squidge Rugby said in his video about the first test: the All Blacks game plan is basically centred around individual brilliance and having better skills than everyone else.
Doesn't always work
It was good watch.
