My AB motm
It's funny aye. One of the most maligned AB forwards of the last couple of years. There's hope for Bridge yet.
As a forward Bridge may well be fast enough.

I guess Ardie is locked into 8 so they won't even try Grace or Sotutu on the bench. A shame, I like the look of both of them. Surely more upside and potential than Pita Gus Sowakula, or am I missing something? PGS is ace at lineout jumping? Cane said he was great at shifting bodies at rucks, I must have missed that. At least PGS bears a passing resemblance to Mr T.

@Bones I'm genuinely curious, not being an arse (for a change)
as it always seems a loosie goes off, I assumed it was a rule whereby a forward had to leave.
The rule re Ardie not being allowed back on sucked though, even as a sub (as I assume they sent PGS on as they were not allowed to send Ardie back)
From what i read on rugbypass the officials fucked up the Ardie thing. It should have been Dalton that wasn’t allowed back on because he was the one that went off to allow AT on.
Don’t think there is any rule saying it has to be a loosie either. Just seems to be what everyone does. It’s stupid though. Kaino going off after SBW got red in Lions 2 was a huge mistake.
Still don’t know what the actual rules are around a front rower having to come on even if they can’t play that side of the scrum. ie. why the hell Ross came on when the scrums had to go uncontested anyway. Sounds like ABs are seeking clarification so hopefully we all find out.

@Nepia ha yeah I was sitting there last night thinking what a clusterfuck.
Didnt the ref say we had to send off a loose forward? DP was already off, we arent gonna send off our captain (as much as some would prefer) AS was the only one.
I do find that rule ridiculous, rugby is a contest, and the forward exchange pivotal to it, not to mention the safety aspect, yet they will happily allow a scrum to be underpowered by forcing the team to remove a forward if a prop is binned, rather than let them choose who to remove (ie a wing more than likely)
@taniwharugby Be thankful the ref didn't know the rules in that situation. If he had, you'd have had to remove two players to bring the prop on and be down to 12 men instead of 13.
A lot of talk about lack of a game plan and structure yesterday. But really it was atrocious discipline that cost you that game.

There is no shame in losing
Hard disagree. There is and should be.
This Ireland team lost to France. Could point out all the weaknesses in their side but it's been done to death.
France, who everyone reckons is favourite for the RWC? That France?

That doesn't sound right. Discard the yellow that DP came on for. Pretend it didn't happen. Ardie goes off for the red and isn't replaced. Isn't it that simple?

Yeah but like I said, who's the ref to say who's a forward and who's a back? That would be weird.

@antipodean okay Ian Foster. Carry on playing Fozzie ball and we’ll continue to lose. 🤡🤡🤡
Getting spicy around here.
If we lose next year, we’ll be insulting each others’ mothers.
I hope that the media gives them plenty of shit this week.
It appears that the Cockwomble Irish flanker - who finished the game with worse stats than Cane - did actually insult our skip.
I’m prepared to bet we’ll win by plenty next week.

You mean it isn't a genuine revelation?

He was great, along with Sevu Reece.

@antipodean I’m not saying ‘just run it’ from anywhere, I’m saying we need to chance our arm more than we are now and actually back our players to exert dominance through a superior skillset, because fuck me we have the players to do it.
I get that kicking is a way of tactically getting through and over modern day defensive lines but when we get well over the advantage line (even from inside our own half) and we have the opposition back pedalling, surely it’s best to keep ball in hand, no?
Something that Mo’unga has in spades over Beauden is the ability to read when to kick vs when to run no matter where his team is on the park.
As an AB fan, I just think kicking is ingrained into our game atm and I feel like we aren’t always making the right decisisons when we have the opposition under the pump.
Mo’unga for me kicks better, and is more aggressive with his kicking. If you want someone to move you around the park he is better option at 1st.
What gets me about BB is when we have advantage and he goes for the all or nothing play. Don’t get me wrong, in general play BB’s anticipation and skills at speed make him a match winner.
Both get criticism when team goes backward and they can’t bump off a set of loose forwards and run the length of the field like Dan Carter did every week.

Maybe I'm just mature enough to handle losses (nope that didn't sound right even as I typed it).
I know what you mean. From the other side.
I keep thinking that I should be mature enough to take losses like this (watching on TV), and 2019 SF (at the stadium). But I'm not. I fucking hate it. I'm an immature little shit who can't handle the All Blacks losing.
Fuck the world. -

Fuck the world.Depends how they lose. I get pissed off when they lose and play like shit e.g yesterday.
Losing when they play well is way less painful - still not acceptable, mind

@booboo these guys don't suddenly start being unco and unable to catch.
It's all linked to preparation, confidence, trust in those around you, knowing the systems...nothing was in sync last night.
As an aside, Ta'avao getting a RC gets a judiciary visit, if he gets a ban from that contact, rugby is even more fuckeded...
Reckon his HIA stand down will be longer than the disciplinary one.

Only game I can think of like that was England over here, I think it was 2012? They outplayed us completely and through no fault of our own. Plus my loss insurance was our (English) blindside saying he'd get a silver fern tattoo if they (England) won.

I think atrocious discipline is a symptom of a poorly coached team whose "gameplan" is being easily picked off by other teams.
