@Frank Taylor, Retallick, Cane.
Ha ha, snap.
Maybe Stuart Barnes was right about Cane 🤔I love him, but he just looks slow.
He’s working his ass off, but he’s not impactful and won’t be a better player next year. It’s not that he’s a poor player, he’s just no longer the best 7 in the country.
He would be in the squad and he can help to develop Dalton, but he shouldn’t be captain and most likely shouldn’t be starting.
I rate him as an All Black and don't anyone else would do better as Captain, but I have to question his quality of play. Whether it's the balance of the loose trio or he's longer got it, he just doesn't have the impact he once did
Good post. I had a look at the stats and I’m reassessing my position. With a loosie down, its probably unfair to put it on Cane as his role is to be the worker of the group. That’s likely why having Paps paired with him doesn’t work, as Paps is basically bigger younger Sam Cane.

We had an amazing run. Between 2008 and 2018 we were the best team by miles. But like all good dynasties eventually they crumble as the quality of leadership declines. But we will rise anew from the ashes, we always do
In the past, even our ashes still managed to keep records against Ireland and Argentina intact...

The gap has closed to be fair

I'm old enough to have seen this 2-3 times - just never as bad as this.

Out of curiosity are the midfield bombs where we gift possession to the opposite team a tactic or does BB and AS really think it's a good idea?
It's team tactics. Has to be
Is Ian Foster actually Leigh Hart in disguise?

I'm still spitting about the 'taking the player past the ruck' calls. there's some made up shit in there

Ireland has done us a favour.
Test rugby has always been about the team that makes the less mistakes wins. As a person who experienced test rugby in the 70s (can't remember much to be honest), the 80s, 90s up to now, the rugby that the ABs play now doesn't feel like test rugby. There is a lack of territorial awareness which means a lack of pragmatic kicking, they invite chaos near their line which more often than not has negative results, etc, etc.
It is hard to explain but in the Foster era, they give it up too easily. We have no desire to play the territory game
Because our 10 has a shit territory game.
Richie will be better next time.

Did you steal that from the Canes changing room?

Foster sounds about as inspiring as a Funeral Director.
but less re-hearsed.
-
On the Ardie sub who should they have picked to go off instead? They needed to take someone off for the scrum. Probably LF and play without a winger for the match?
The standard move is to go without a loosie. I think Dalton was already off for the previous YC for that reason

Wasn't that what was said last time?
He's great at SR level, good when the AB's are in charge, has skills to burn but just doesn't seem able to take the final step.

‘The guys hung in there and did really well’
What the actual fuck Foster ? Are you hearing what you’re saying ?
Well it all makes sense if Foster was expecting to lose by more!

Just like with Hart, I'm not amused
