The article below states that last night was Harry Godfrey's last game for the Hurricanes this year because of Under 20 commitments. I assume that also rules out Peter Lakai for the remainder of the season.

If Aiden Morgan goes down we are in trouble. Cameron is done for the season by the sounds and despite the Hurricanes commenting on their post last week that Love would be back training, we still haven't seen him.

SR teams would be allowed exemptions to retain U20 players due to squad injuries. There are quite a few 1st 5 options for the NZ U20s to make that decision easier. I'm sure the Crusaders want to keep Hotham too.

@Bovidae it sounds like from that article that Holland and the Canes have no plans of keeping Godfrey from Under 20s duties even if they are struck with another injury to Morgan.

When's TJP expected back? He's played at 10 for the Canes before.

@Stargazer after making great progress early in the season it’s gone a bit quiet on TJ. He’s running out of time to make it back but who knows, we may see him soon.

It would be a hard job to come back into 10 for him, rather than 9, after months off

Does Tevita Mafileo prefer tighthead or loosehead? Is he signed for next year?

@Tim not sure about Mafileo’s signing but he’s one the Canes will want to lock down. He’s 25 which is young for a prop and he can play both sides to a high standard which is considered gold these days.

I reckon he's the type of player they should try and keep to. He's actually a good scummager etc , so plenty of pluses to keeping him.

@Canes4life Guess that means he won’t the Canes head coach.

Playing conspiracy theorist here I wonder if the Canes head coach has already been chosen as Gibbes doesn’t want to work with him?

Haha Mikey, or wonder if he just wants to go hame to Te Awamutu like he says.
Am I the only innocent on here who doesn't try to find twists to everything?? And I know mate you weren't being serious (I hope)

Gibbes' comments seem to imply that his family isn't with him in Wellington. That's a tough situation.

Hurricanes playing club rugby this weekend:

    Wellington
    Riley Higgins (13, Petone)

and that's all I could find, with the U20 players not available for club rugby anymore and others apparently not released.

@Stargazer awesome signing, with Franks unlikely to sign on we need to future proof our props and he looks to have all the attributes for Super Rugby and above.

I hope the Canes also sign PJ Sheck over Pasilio Tosi going forward aswell.

With the signing of Godfrey and now Lauaki I hope we can lock in more under 20 talent. Hopefully we sign the likes of Raymond Tuputupu, Tom Allen, Cooper Flanders and Jordi Vijoen before other teams get their mits on them.
