The fact Jason Holland still mentions Prinsep in the below article is a massive worry. WTF does Holland even see in that guy? He's just so damn mediocre, a bit like Holland's selections last year.
Holland quotes: "Pete's going well, Brayden [Iose], Devan [Flanders], you've still got your Reed Prinseps your Ardie Saveas and your Du'Plessis Kirifis and your TK Howdens.

@Canes4life
Priñsep was his starter when fit so guess he rates him so will mention him. But hope someone else steps up at 6.Is delany injured
I expect to see priñsep starting in the first game along with Blackwell. It won't change until Holland leaves. And even with a new coach if Gibbes remains it still might not. Unless it's prinsep last year

Both Delany and Howden are better than Prinsep. Delany thoroughly outplayed Prinsep in the NPC final, plus I would also have Flanders shift to 6 before selecting Prinsep.
You're right though, Prinsep seems like Holland's teachers pet. Hopefully they both move on at season's end.

From the below post, Ruben Love will miss the first two rounds of Super Rugby with a groin strain. I assume the Hurricanes will start Moorby at 15.

Canes need to do more updates on all injured or unavailable players

Yeah a bit average on the updates tbh.

"fozzie indicated he enjoyed me playing there so I suppose the rest is up to me and put myself into that position every week."
The same coach who prior to the forced switch wasn't convinced by the proposition of Jordie at 12.

Yawn.
His Canes coach wasn't exactly pushing the option hard either and when Foster made those comments Jordie was still finding his feet. -

All the ones who 'knew' it would never work are probably the same ones who 'knew' 12 was JBs position!

It's a little different with Jordie though because he actually started out as predominantly a 12 for school, NZ under 20s and Canterbury in that first year, and then made the shift to fullback. It's not like he's been a 15 all his career and suddenly wants to move to the midfield. Scott Roberston even said back at the beginning of Jordie's career that he wanted to sign him as a 12 for the Crusaders.

I think the same argument applies to many other players. Positions at school or club level are often not where you are best employed at higher levels.
I just get tired of people trying to use this as evidence of Foster being incompetent. If you look at it without bias the story was that Foster openly questioned why he would want to move his best back from the previous year to a different position. That’s a fair call IMO. He was also still committed to some other options at 12 in his plans and had to play that out. RTS hasn’t worked out (for whatever reasons) but you don’t select the guy then throw the option away without trying it just because your best fullback has played a handful of average (albeit with signs) games at 12.
Give Foster credit that he admits that his initial assessment of the situation was forced to change. He doesn’t hide from that. -

I was so happy when Prinsep got subbed on for Cant in the NPC final. Of course, he ends up spilling the ball.
My favourite player when he's on the other team.

Yep so did a certain Christian Cullen. He was a centre through school, club and when he first played rep rugby in the mighty Nua. Not saying anything right or wrong, just having a smile about it.

Cool story on Caleb Delany, (similar to Devan Flanders) I'm hoping he has a big year in black and yellow.

An update on Ruben Love and Brett Cameron
