Matera should have seen red. That was bad.

    That's Matera's night done. Stupid.

Yellow. Seems about right for a shoulder-land

    Disagree.
The head or shoulder land was all on the victim not the tackler.

The thing I don't like about the arm/shoulder mitigation is that it's often through the actions of the player being dumped on their head as to whether the tackler is yellow or red carded. Stick your arm out to try and save your neck and the tackler is often given a yellow for what should clearly be a red card.

Whatever type of card it was poor from Matera when he didn’t really need to use a lift

Shocking exit kick from TTT and it puts us under pressure and Reds score a good try.

Useless kick from Havili, then gets matched with an equally poor kick from the Reds.

Got through no injuries and 4 players back next week did just enough.

Scrappy game. We were trying some million dollar plays with some 10 dollar players…

    Defence was pretty good.

Crusader's scrum was hardly dominant at all, their general forward play was not up to scratch. Kicking was abysmal.

It looked like the Crusaders played with the handbrakes on. All they needed to do was win. No need for a bonus point.

With the players they were missing, clearly also a spark was missing.

Lots of dry powder, I think.

It's an odd rule really. In big games it arguably creates an incentive for the tackled player to "take one for the team" and try to fall awkwardly.

Yep just enough done to win Taylor,Newell,Mounga.Hall,Reece and Goodhue back next week.
Its finals footy coming up get through to the knockouts with no injuries, pretty much what the Blues are doing playing a B/C team.
This week does not really matter too much its all about the next 3 weeks.

@Chris-B It wouldn't surprise me at all, if Matera gets cited. Either via the citing commissioner, or because the case is submitted by the Reds. It would help them a lot if he gets suspended. Whether that citing will be successful, no idea. There will be more camera angles than those we have seen.

Bower went well tonite. Burke and Ennor had some better moments. Not too much else. Maybe the finals will not be as cut and dried as many are predicting.

@Stargazer You'll know more about the process than me.

It was clearly dangerous, but also looked reasonably clear that Matera got lucky and the guy landed on his shoulder first, so I thought the referees ruled it consistent with instructions.
