@chris ahh yeah I see it now, scones his eye while his head is down rhen hits him in the shoulder/chest. I can see why the TMO missed it on a quick run through.

Heroic performance by the Highlanders after dropping a man early. That win for the Canes almost felt like a loss, we were far too passive in the second half, too much aimless kicking, a lack of assertiveness and aggression by my boys made it far closer than it should have been. At times the Landers looked like the team that had the numbers

@bones That's why it should have been a proper TMO referral. Not that quick look that they do when play continues.

We really looked like a team on the end of a storm week. I guess it's flush the dunny and move on, sometimes you just have to win ugly and that's what we did tonight.

@stargazer Evans should’ve gone off for an HIA then shouldn’t he if it was as bad as he made it out to be…maybe I’m blind but I can’t see any contact to the head I’m not saying it didn’t happen I just can’t see it.

@mikey07 Do you think that black eye just appeared by itself? And do you think it's coincidence that that happened immediately after Aumua lunged at him, shoulder first?

@stargazer If you’d bothered to read my post I SAID I couldn’t see it, I didn’t say it didn’t happen or that it magically just happened. Regardless he should of gone off for an HIA for taking a shot to the head.

@mikey07 I can't see anymore what your post initially said because you edited it. I can't remember reading the last bit.

@stargazer Oh ok I was just saying that I couldn’t see where he hit him in the face I also said that I didn’t doubt he did.

I’ve watched that clip over and over again and I can see a faint shoulder where Evans head was but then Aumua seems to hit him harder in the chest.

@bones No to my knowledge he layed on the field then got up and carried on some minutes later.

@bones I vaguely remember him going to the sideline, but can't remember whether he went off for a HIA. Possibly it was just a quick check by the team doctor.

    quick check

You could even say, an HIA 😉 he definitely went to the sideline. Didn't realise players were supposed to bounce to their feet and immediately head to the doc @mikey07 !

Don't do that. Dig in and stubbornly fight your corner despite evidence to the contrary. That is the Fern way!

I thought the ref was very good, it was the tmo who got that call wrong. Same as the blues game the refs seemed less reluctant to blow up the ruck for slight technicalities and let the game go. He was very clear with his tackles and release etc.

You’d think if a ref sends someone for a head knock check then they would be able to check how the head knock occurred just to cover their own arses against accusations of double standards
