Highlanders vs Canes

Hurricanes team with NMS under an injury cloud. Why is Jamison GP and J Marshall in the reserves ahead of TTT and Otere Black, surely its important to blood the latter for the future. In all honesty id like to see Beauden Barrett drop back to fullback and Otere come into first five. Imagine that back three of Beaudy, Savea and NMS - best in the comp by far.

If the Canes get slapped again then I might do a Crucial and jump ship. I've lived in Auckland for 4+ years now and with a good man like Tana at the helm they look an attractive proposition.

Ahh the life of a fair weather fan.
-

If the tight five fronts up, and our halves perform to their expected standard then we will be hard to beat. In saying that the Highlanders were a force at home last year and even though Waisaki Nahalo is out injured they will go into this match as favourites.

TAB offering nice odds on the Canes.

Often see some good $ in these early rounds as it is hard to work out any true patterns of strength.

$2.40 win

$3.50 for a 12 under win

$4.00 for a 10 under win

Highlanders team:

1. Brendon Edmonds 2. Liam Coltman 3. Josh Hohneck 4. Tom Franklin 5. Joe Wheeler 6. Elliot Dixon 7. Shane Christie (co-capt) 8. Luke Whitelock 9. Aaron Smith 10. Lima Sopoaga 11. Patrick Osborne 12. Teihorangi Walden 13. Malakai Fekitoa 14. Matt Faddes 15. Ben Smith ( co-capt)

Reserves: 16. Ash Dixon 17. Daniel Lienert-Brown 18. Siosiua Halanukonuka 19. Liam Squire 20. Dan Pryor 21. Josh Renton 22. Hayden Parker 23. Jason Emery

Disappointing that, again, Ryan Tongia is not getting an opportunity to play. Hope he'll move to another team next year to get some game time. He's wasting his time at the Highlanders. Crusaders need a wing next year, to replace Nadolo, but maybe they'll be looking for someone who's big like Nadolo (which Tongia is not) ...
-

Maybe that is why the Crusaders have recruited Fifita, the Counties left wing, who is a big man (not as big as Nadolo though).
-
I fear this will be another reaming. The Canes are Swiss cheese this year. J Savea is a farking chocolate Bavarian.

Ardie needs to have a word with his brother about keeping in shape. Fuck he's strong in the tackle.
