Watching game now and just got to the May knock on to rule out Ardie's try.
TMOs can fuck right off.
He was desperate for it so he didn’t look like an egg for calling play back.
The other aspect is that the shit call ruined an exciting try that would have made the news highlights and promoted the comp.
Shot his employers down.
TMOs should have a sticker on their screens with “Clear and Obvious or you get the sack” -

@bones Funny, at one point the penalties were so lopsided I genuinely thought the ref was looking at only the Crusaders. Can't be arsed watching again though.
I thought the same, especially in the first half.
Somebody mentioned the ref not wanting to stop the game when a Canes player got injured then was happy to stop when a Sader got injured. I thought it had more to do with backs v forwards. Traditionally the game seems more likely to be held up when a forward is injured rather than when a back is injured. IIRC the injured Cane was a back and the injured Sader was a forward.
Forwards are pussies.

Was I hearing things or did TJ say "us" when referring to the Crusaders?
Went back and listened to it.
Yep - he said it.
Referring to the Hurricanes "it's only a couple of years ago since they last beat us"
Yikes

And yet, no card until the saders reeeeally forced his hand. Just think how lopsided it would feel with a real ref...have a watch of some AB games 😁

@crucial watch the VOD. His fingertip bent as it made contact with the ball. I know it's marginal but contact is contact.
You must have some sort of amazing frame rate and clarity on your pics.
I have watched it over and over and there’s one frame that possibly could show a slight movement of a finger but it’s a huge stretch to call it clear and obvious. Even after that shot the TMO searches for something clear (tells the ref to hang on I’m still looking) then strangely has a decision.
It most certainly wasn’t clear or obvious. Ruling out tries on possibles or even probables is bullshit. When he tells the ref to hang on, he cuts to a rear shot that I thought shows Barrett actually batted it just out of May's reach - then swiftly ends it and doesn't look again.

@crazy-horse it was a forward for the canes, I remember because Nisbo (who is remarkably even worse this season), commented on how the player is going to have even more strapping added to his legs.
He had strapping on his thighs for lifters.

Could have sworn it was a back. Are we talking about the same instance? I stand to be corrected but the time I am talking about is when the Cane's player got his ankle strapped. My terrible memory tells me it was someone like Proctor. The ref told him to hurry up so he jumped to his feet only to find the game had been held up by an injured Crusader. He then went down again and got his ankle strapped while the ref talked to the two captains about speeding up injury stoppages.
Now I am worried I have the wrong game!

Yep bang on Crazy, it was Proctor, and then ref saw Cullen from Crusaders was injured.

@crazy-horse I'm the one with the wrong game then!
Sets a stall out for the other teams though eh, at least everyone knows. No injuries unless a crusaders player is injured...

Just watched first half. Canes right on top. Crazy score at 16-12. Chch didn't do much right, one try ought to have been ruled out for forward pass, lucky only to have one in bin. Canes should have had at least 6 more on board. Canes 16 - Chch 5 would have been fairer reflection. Amazing!
