@Machpants
Yeah, that's why I said it. Worrying!!!!I see it as Jordie at 12 and Rieko and ALB fighting it out for 13 with Rieko having the inside running unless ALB can outplay him.
No way he would've called Ennor in if he thought jordie was anything but a stop gap midfielder in his eyes. He's still the same coach

Does he not have eyes?
Jordie put in a near perfect performance at 12.
Seriously, if he shuffles Jordie back to 12, fuck him. He's a stubborn fat bastard, that's for sure.

Ennor and RTS lucky to be there - otherwise it looks good.
The real interest is in who is named in the AB XV squad tomorrow. The positions of who is named may hint at which players in this AB squad might get a run for the AB XV.
To be replaced by?
The Umaga-Jensen brothers (assuming they are not injured)

That's a very unsafe assumption.
Even a brief highlights package of Welly v hawkes showed a decent amount of footage of an injured PUJ I think he lightly pushed someone and hurt his shoulder.

Ennor fucking seriously????? Shit he must have an Aunty banging Fozz has been shithouse for the last 2 years. Bullshit selection.
Or Jason Ryan threatening to resign if enough Crusaders weren't picked.

Bit disappointing with a few selections,
But no real surprises
Kinda agree. Ennor & RTS are the iffy ones for me
they are certainly hoping that some players come right in the next 12 months instead of looking to develop some.
They seem to have decided to draw a line under developing players and that experience is more important leading up to RWC2023. Just need to make sure players like LF, Fakatava & Perofeta get plenty of game time.

Wouldn't read too much into which section the players are in. JB's had one start at 12 and Foster will want to see how he goes against a NH team before deciding he's the next Nonu.
Ennor is a weird selection though. Perhaps he's the fifth wheel if Havilli needs to cover at FB

You know, that doesn't scream "pick these guys"!

@Victor-Meldrew well hooker was one I was disappointed with, one of Coles or Taylor needed to drop to the AB XV and give someone a chance in the ABs, neither have shown much this last 12 months
-
@taniwharugby I think Coles has been good. He's no ST but no one is and he's backed up well.

Yeah, good point. You could argue perhaps it comes down to experience and handling pressure in big games. But then you remember Taylor's performance and handling pressure in big games

Hell or highwater Foster is taking his boys through to the RWC. He has his team and form or combos don't seem to count for much. This is not a complaint, just an observation.
However, no matter what happens at the RWC, I am more than convinced the ABs need a completely clean slate from 2024! -

No real surprises - or should I say bolters - in the squad, other than ALB and a luckier than lucky Ennor-subject to injury?
Would have been nice to see Levi Aumua, Telea for RTS and Ennor. and asafo Aumua for Taylor and Harmon, AJ Lam fitted in somewhere...sigh. But you can't have everything. Love to see the above who missed out plus George Bell named in the AB XV. -

I think his A team is pretty nailed on except in 1-2 places - Jordie being a case in point. My guess is the Foster Cartel will use the EOYT to fine-tune things and give the second-stringers game time.

A lot of players will probably retire after RWC2023, (Whitelock, Retallick & Cane spring to mind) but there's been some really good development in the last 2-3 years - particularly in the Front row and loose forwards. Locks, 10 & midfield are where we need a load of change IMHO.
