Whoever is coach you would have to think Grace will come into the picture. We'll probably need Barrett to start at lock so Grace could be an excellent option at 6.
6 = Ioane
7 = Savea
8 = GraceI'd like to see Sotutu used a bit and I personally like what Jacobsen brings. PGS - no thanks. Think Cane needs to be relieved of the captaincy and given the NPC to find some form. Though Papalili was extremely disappointing - offered the square sum of FA in his appearances.
With Retallick out, can give some decent game time to Vaii, with Barrett, Whitelock and someone else (but someone else must not be tuipolotu).

I'd say Blues fans might not be happy with the starting XV. We still need to find a 2nd 5 regardless who the coach is.
I'm curious to see what Razor could do fitting a few of the better Blues players into his system. Maybe he could get more out of Akira, Paps and Sotutu than Foster clearly could. They haven't reached their ceiling yet
I can't see all of them surviving a Razor cull.
Razor also likes Taylor and Ennor...
Worth a punt, then, on George Bridge getting another shot at the big time if Razor gets the job.
Razor is not some provincially biased idiot.
We have TON of wingers better than him. -

He may not be able to change everything at the same time (and this year)
Don't see why not if, as the pundits say, we have plenty of players with higher skill levels than other countries and he has access to them. It's his job to win Tests consistently and make changes to do that rapidly. I'd expect a heck of lot better than Foster's record of success.
there are tests to be played and you can't make too many changes all at once (players have to learn new game plans/structures), but I think the changes will be thorough.
He's an excellent coach strong on embedding game plans, culture, instilling confidence etc and he'd be working with the cream of NZ players so I don't see the problem with rapid change and success. As has been said many times, Rassie did it.
If Razor gets the job before the RC, I'd expect a heck of lot better than Foster's record of success. I'd want him to at least equal Foster's 2021 win ratio in that completion, so one loss only, and no losses on the EOYT tour considering it's a light schedule and we are playing Wales, Scotland and only one traditionally difficult opponent in England. Anything less would be zero progress.

Whatever they do, I’d have this on the wall.
The entire rugby community, including world rugby, is enjoying the ABs being shown up.
Every coach - and AB - should have to look at shit like this and consider whether they are prepared to put some Mana back into the jersey.
If you cant deliver, leave.

Yeah nah. What NZ rugby needs is intelligence not emotion. More of this « channel your emotions” and less of an actuel game plan, strategy etc will get us nowhere.

Personally I think we need both.
They are against us.

@Billy-Tell DP has offered a whole lot more when part of a proper trio.

They've always been against us. Everytime we master the rules they change them to try to even things up. What I can't abide, is when we shoot ourselves in the foot. Since Steve Tew left, thats all we seem to be doing on the administrative front, and since 2018 on the field we have been in decline with no visible plan to pull us out of it

So, its in our hands to find the right people to combat that. I’m not only suggesting that we need to care more, I’m suggesting that we need to choose people who can redefine our game plan.

We have generally done that pretty well over the years. Even lesser performing coaches were considered among the best available at the time despite not being everyone's pick. Not this time, and now we are paying for it

So with Lord and Retallick out and Scott Barrett under a cloud, we will need to bring in a lock or two. I thought a couple of the MAB locks fared pretty well and Dickson would be my first port of call as cover.
I think they’ll keep Bower, Ross, Ta’avao, Tu’ungafasi and Laulala. I wouldn’t have the latter two and would replace Karl T.
A good opportunity to start Sami in all RC tests and rotate the bench hooker. I’d keep Taylor to play that role in some of them but also have one other. Don’t know who because Eklund and Aumua don’t fill me with great confidence. Where’s the empty cupboard emoji…

In the post match Fozzie seemed pissed of at the players as if they didn't do what was asked. It will be very interesting to see where the axe swings.
I think that the locks did their roles (even if those roles weren't great). It was obvious that BBBRs job was to carry and tackle close while SWs was to clean out slightly wider.
Taylor was a huge let down, but as you say, we need him still there as the options aren't great. Eklund didn't look the goods against Ireland B. Aumua hasn't risen above 'potential'.
Do we take a hail mary shot and throw in an understudy that gets extra coaching?
Karl T will be gone anyway and it's time to invest heavily in Ross/De Groot.
I'm going to get shot down heavily here as a 'hater' but I don't see Akira being the answer at 6. Is he our best option right now? Probably. But I can see why Barrett was put in. Where are our 6s that play direct, suck in tacklers, make metres and, most importantly, own their channel and make others think twice about going that way.. -

nah all good.
i think a huge problem is the way they are obviously told to play. It was noticeable that Akira kept getting positioned at about the 5m line for some dumb ass reason, especially in the first half. And we never got him the ball. So we waste an attacking threat. Run out of guys to clean rucks, and clog the space for our outside backs. It's the same dumb shit from prime-Read (which was what, 5-6 years ago?)

Not shooting you down as a hater but your comment seems ill timed after a test match when Akira was one of the few ABs to do what you say the role should be and after a series where SB despite the hype (and weirdly high Fern MOTM votes) barely made any metres and missed more tackles than most ABs.
